Rachel is a fourth-year
journalism major and
Spanish minor. This is her
fourth semester on The
Oracle and she’s hopped around in almost every po-
sition. She can be found talking about having Corgis
instead of children, living in the 90s via emo and
loudly. This is a newspaper, so news is kind of im-
portant, and you should probably write some! You’ll
get the chance to cover important stories about the
college and the town, ones that people actually really
care about. Having your name in print is pretty cool
too (Re: Taina seeing her name in lights, but better).
Katie is a third-year
journalism major entering
her third semester serving
as features editor at The
Oracle. Terrifying things
tend to come in threes. She enjoys puns, obsessively
taking pictures of her dog, drinking beverages out
of novelty mugs and willing objects from across the
room to move closer to her to avoid getting up. If
you’re the kind of person who wants to hone your
craft as a writer or reporter, tell great stories, or
simply engage in vaguely uncomfortable watercool-
er-grade chit chat a few times a week, the features
section could be the place for you!
Carolyn is a fourth-year
creative writing major and
journalism minor. This is
her second semester as arts
& entertainment editor at The Oracle. She’s usually
marathoning television shows, weeping over beau-
tiful writing, googling pictures of French Bulldogs
and letting her coffee get cold. She hates that AP
Style hates the oxford comma, but that’s one thing
she won’t cry over. The A&E section covers every-
thing from the local music scene to movie reviews
and a passion for the arts, she wants you to write
for the A&E section.
Angela is a fourth-year
public relations major
with a minor in English.
This is her second semester
on The New Paltz Oracle
favorite sport and she likes the way it dribbles up and
down the court. She’s excited to cover the talented
teams and student athletes that wear blue and orange.
mind when you think of SUNY New Paltz, but there
are exciting stories to tell. If you enjoy watching
sports, talking about sports and/or playing them, why
not step up your game and write about them?
check out “The Oracle” most thursdays during the semester!

Julie is a fourth-year
currently pursuing a BFA
in drawing and painting
along with two minors.
She mostly works in traditional mediums, like oil
painting and ceramics, but there is no denying that
she has a love affair with illustration. She joined
The Oracle a year ago to work on cartooning and
since then has grown tremendously with the help of
her Oracle
her illustrative style so stay tuned for some exciting
new art this semester. If you would like to submit a
cartoon to The Oracle, email her at N02042344@
hawkmail.newpaltz.edu.
Joe Neggie is a fourth-
year radio and television
production major who is
currently in his second se-
mester as multimedia editor
of The Oracle. When he isn’t running around New
Paltz’s campus with his camera, Joe enjoys following
the Yankees. If you are interested in shooting video
for any of the sections within The Oracle — news,
arts, features or sports — this semester, email him at
[email protected] or stop by the
paper’s story meetings on most Thursdays and talk
to him.
Robin Weinstein is a third-
year photography BFA
and journalism minor. This
is her fourth semester as
photography editor. She can often be found watching
unhealthy amounts of television, whether it be “How
I Met Your Mother” or “The Big Bang Theory,” but
you’ve probably also seen her photographing news-
worthy events or sports games on campus. Although
she loves photographing events around New Paltz,
she can’t do it all on her own. If you are interested
in photographing for The New Paltz Oracle, come to
our weekly meetings or email her at robin.wein-
Samantha is a fourth-year
mathematics major with a
double minor in photogra-
phy and psychology. She
can usually be found solv-
ing problems in the math lab or out and about town
drinking coffee somewhere. This is her fourth semes-
ter on The Oracle as the photography editor for The
Gunk. Samantha also coordinates “The Deep End”
page, a place that features a different student visual
artist each week. If you would like to take photos for
The Gunk or if you would like to nominate yourself
or a friend as an artist for “The Deep End” feel free
to email her at [email protected].
