The PalaMeter and its functions
The PalaMeter by Heraeus is the most versatile measuring instrument for prosthetics:
Easy to use.
Flexible.
Universal because it combines a range of dental measuring instruments.
The PalaMeter has been developed to produce a tool that simplifi es your daily work in many ways. The ease of use, the fl exibility and the multiple measuring capabilities are only some of the advantages of the PalaMeter.
Developed with customersEverything that you need is right here. The PalaMeter was designed by Dr Andreas Polei and Heraeus Dental in close cooperation with dental technicians and dentists specifi cally to meet your requirements.
Easy to use Practical in design and made from fully fl exible material, its helpful color coding makes the PalaMeter particularly easy to use. Its measurement capabilities are labelled as follows:
Ruler in mm
Angular dimension in °
Arch gauge in mm
Probe in 1/10 mm
Millimetre grid
Explore many more measurement opportunities when working with the PalaMeter
We hope you enjoy it.

Tooth width. The width is measured at the height of the contact point and provides a scale for the width of the replacement tooth.
Aesthetic Curve measurement of the arch from cuspid to cuspidThe distance between the long axis of the two cuspids (measurement of the appliance width on a curve)
Measuring the width of a gap Measuring the aesthetic curve
Application options
Implant planning. The evaluation of the clinical volume for the implant placement and the implant prosthetics is important at the planning stage.
Measuring dimensions for implantology
Calculating the appliance width on the bar.

Vertical measurements can be made at the wax wall. The difference between the top margin of the aesthetic wall and the smile line is a scale for the length of the denture teeth.
Measurement with fl exible dental arch gauge. The fl exibility of the PalaMeter makes measurements of the dentition easy.
Vertical dimension Measuring the dental arch
The visible tooth component can be checked metrically.
Height of incisal length
The comparison with the limit value of the cross-bite indication (80°).The alveolar ridge connecting lines form an angle to the Occlusal plane.
Position of the mandibular arch in relation to the maxilla

Determine lowest point of the alveolar ridge profi le. The fl exibility of the PalaMeter makes alignment easy for determining the tangent at the alveolar ridge line.
Draw a 22.5° angle starting from the occlusion centre. The guide areas and the transparency of the PalaMeter make it easy to check the angle.
Occlusion centre Application of the 22.5° angle
Marking the molar point The PalaMeter allows a perpendicular line to be run to anatomically important points.
Molar point
Draw a perpendicular from the intersection.A defi nitive dental stop line can be defi ned in relation to the anatomical alveolar ridge with the 90° line.
Stop line
TIP: Use the bottom edge of the guide to draw a pencil line. TIP: Trim the area for drawing the alveolar ridge profi le fl at.

Position of molar point in the maxilla.Points on the mandible can be transferred vertically to the maxilla with the ruler.
Finding and marking the midline. The anterior and posterior anatomical midline is determined and marked.
Transfer to the maxilla Midline
Checking with the millimetre grid.Easily achieved planning security, options for monitoring and fi nal checks in all areas of prosthetics and implantology.
Checking symmetries
Marking without parallax errors. The median line forms the connection between the two marks.
Marking by the markers
TIP: Use a mechanical pencil for marking and use the mechanical pencil guide. TIP: Both 90° perpendicular guides can also be used here.
TIP: The fl exible material enables precise transfer to the model.
