The New Deal wasn’t efficient or helpful and did NOT pull out country and its economy out of the Great Depression, as its purpose was, and could have possibly plunged us into a greater depression and DEFINITELY bigger federal debt.

increased poverty due to weak income and inability to afford products money doesn’t circulate

o Tripling of federal taxes from 1.6 billion in 1933 to 5.3 billion in 1940 taxed every day goods that the average Americans could not afford, simple things like butter

o Increased presidential power , took away the power of the people and the loss of freedom

o Possibly encouraged dictatorship, for example, it encouraged people like Hitler to become a dictator due to our government’s large takeover over the individual citizen’s lives on a daily basis
