the Scottsdale National Breeder Final in 2015 as
a yearling as well as a 2015 Egyptian Event Re-
serve Champion Futurity Colt winner. Shahzaad

Scottsdale Division at Arabian Expressions. “We
are now thrilled to have this opportunity to showcase

a year-round basis to Scottsdale’s visitors from

The Pyramid Society takes enormous pride in acknowledging
the importance of the Straight Egyptian Arabian bloodlines on a
global stage. And we’re appropriately celebrating at the 2016 Egyptian
Event! Please join us in “Celebrating the Horse Without Borders – The
Egyptian Arabian, A Global Ambassador”, June 7-11, 2016. Updated
information will be included in the February Chariot with all details finalized on
our web by early March. At this time, however, please note the important
information in this section of the newsletter. Then watch for upcoming news
of exciting enhancements and opportunities planned for this year’s Egyptian

THE PYRAMID SOCIETY - GUARDIANS OF THE TREASURE
The Pyramid Society takes its role as guardians of the Straight Egyptian Arabian horse very seriously. To that end, we have been the first Arabian organization to institute policies at our flagship show The Egyptian Event, that are designed to safeguard the welfare of our cherished horses.
Notably, we were the first show to test for the use of ginger. In fact, we worked with USEF on the design of the test and implementation of the testing protocol.
Adding a fourth judge to our classes (normally adjucated by three judges) with the sole purpose of monitoring the class for violations of our rules and procedures including assessing penalties for improper conduct, grooming and any abuse or cruelty issues.

The Board of Directors of The Pyramid Society recognizes that the issue of
NEW PRESENTATION GUIDELINES
In January, the USEF Board of Directors approved an addition to the rule
book, which outlines equine vaccination requirements at licensed competi-
tions. Beginning December 1, 2015, all horses entering the grounds of a
Federation-licensed competition must be accompanied by documentation
of Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis)
vaccinations within six months prior to entering the stables.

Our 2016 Egyptian Event Prize List is scheduled to be posted online by in early March. If you are planning on showing, and would like the option of receiving a printed copy of the Prize List (by mid-March) please email our office with your request. Quantities are limited.

show ring abuse is still an ongoing struggle. With this in mind, we have taken an in depth look at the current USEF rules concerning ring conduct and guidelines for the presentation of horses to the judges. We are in the process of strengthening those guidelines where allowed by the USEF Rule Book. We are addressing inappropriate conduct by the handler in all as-pects of the show including the walk, trot and any presentation of the horse for judging. The presentation of horses to the judges (or “stand-up”) is an area we feel very strongly that improvements simply must be made. This applies to all classes, including the Championship Classes.
Our goal is to present the horses in a manner that is exciting and flattering to the Arabian horse, while maintaining the dignified and
humane manner befitting this noblest of breeds.

Several Pyramid Society members will be attending the
Kuwait International Arabian Horse Festival in February,
including the inaugural All Nations Cup – Straight Egyptians,
February 6 & 7, as well as the farm tours that follow. We are also
delighted to announce an exclusive Exhibition of Art Work by Karen
Kasper as part of the Festival. Festival highlights will be featured in
next month’s Chariot.
KUWAIT INTERNATIONAL ARABIAN
HORSE FESTIVAL
Covington Center, Andalusia, Alabama March 18 and 19, 2016 Once again The Pyramid Society will have a presence at the Alabama All Arabian Horse Show, March 18th & 19th. Straight Egyptian classes are scheduled on Saturday morning, March 19th, and Pyramid Society members will be sponsoring a Wine & Cheese party following the afternoon session. The event is a double qualifier for Regions 9 and 12. Make plans to attend, show off your best Straight Egyptians, cheer on fellow Pyramid Society members, and invite others to join in the fun! ….MORE

Another foaling season has finished at Simeon Stud with
some truly wonderful babies born. Simeon Shekhara (Imperial
Madaar x Simeon Setavi), a full sister to their magnificent
young stallion Simeon Sahron, had her first ever foal. Sired by
Simeon Shifran (Asfour x Simeon Shavit), this grey filly is a

NEWS FROM THE KENWORTHYS Paradise Arabians was sold almost 2 years ago to a small group of clients that formed Paradise Arabians Holdings, LLC. The Kenworthys stayed on until the first of this year, but will now be moving on. They will continue to evaluate, appraise, market and sell horses and Gary will also be offering photography and videography services. They are also very excited to announce that The Singleton (Thee Desperado x Alia Riyala) was sold to Qatar and Sayyad Al Jannat (Scapa x Infidels Imaara) was sold to Australia.
