TDI enginesThe new 2.0 litre TDI diesel engines, with common rail technology,

are not only highly responsive and fun to drive, but also cleaner,

quieter and incredibly efficient and refined. Choose from 140PS

and 180PS variants, each offering superior performance and

car-like agility.

DSG Direct Shift GearboxDriving is all about thinking ahead, which is just what the

award-winning new 7-speed DSG dual clutch transmission does.

DSG operates almost as two separate systems, one engaging the

odd-numbered and the other the even-numbered gears. So when

you’re accelerating in second, it has third gear ready and waiting

for you. And as soon as you’ve made the switch, it’s already

thinking about fourth. With two clutches working together,

it enables you to change gears almost instantly and experience

Enter a world of possibilities.

The new Caravelle’s floor-mounted rail system is designed to let

you tailor the interior layout to your own specific requirements,

opening up a world of possibilities. The stylish seating area

is comfortable and inviting, with both of the single rear seats

featuring folding and swivelling mechanisms, ISOFIX child

seat mountings, adjustable head restraints and integrated

three-point seat belts. The three-seater rear bench offers similar

levels of comfort and practicality, while the multi-functional

table not only folds and swivels, but also conveniently slides

along the rail system.

Throughout the interior you’ll find amazing attention to detail,

demonstrated by such features as multiple interior lights with

reading lamps, heat reflective glass, roller blinds for the side

windows and overhead air vents, helping to create atmosphere

and increase passenger pleasure. With plenty of rear luggage

space and numerous storage drawers, trays, bins and

compartments, there’s ample room for everything – even

when you’re carrying seven people.

Driving pleasure. Everything about the new Caravelle is geared towards driving pleasure. Comfortable, supportive front

seats feature height, lumbar, reach and rake adjustments, as well as armrests and head restraints,

ensuring the driver and front passenger feel totally at home. Sports suspension gives a ride that is both

comfortable and agile, while air conditioning, electric windows, heated exterior mirrors, remote central

locking, and a RCD 310 Radio/CD player with eight speakers, all fitted as standard, further enhance the

driving experience.

An ergonomically designed dashboard ensures all switches and controls are conveniently to hand, and

features such as vanity mirrors in both sun visors, time delay interior lights and reading lamps provide

the kind of detail you’d expect to find in any Volkswagen vehicle. Safety, of course, is paramount,

and the new Caravelle has a whole range of active safety features, including Anti-lock Braking System

(ABS), Electronic Stabilisation Programme (ESP), Active Rollover Protection (ARP), and Traction Control

System (TCS), while passive safety features include head restraints and driver and passenger airbags to

minimise injury in the event of an accident.

The new California is a real home from home, with everything you need for cooking ready

to hand – including a two-burner hob, sink with a drawer and cutlery tray beneath, and

handy fridge. There’s also plenty of useful storage space providing lots of room for your

pots, pans, dishes and plates. In addition, the kitchen unit also comes with a movable and

folding worktop, fitted as standard, which is designed for use as a table.

Swivelling front seats and an adjustable free-standing table (conveniently stored in the

sliding door) ensure that mealtimes in the new California are always a sociable affair.

And during those warm, summer evenings, two standard folding seats, cleverly stored

in the tailgate, enable you to sit outside and watch the sun go down at your leisure.

As you’d expect, the interior of the new California meets the highest expectations, with

innovative ideas and high quality materials throughout. For example, the wood-trimmed

cupboard fittings are made of lightweight material to reduce the overall weight of the

vehicle and reduce fuel consumption, while the corrugated inner core of the aluminium

panels maintains the stability of the cupboard surfaces, which feature curves rather than

sharp edges. The fresh water and waste tanks are protected against frost and each has a

capacity of 30 litres. There’s also an AC inverter, with a 230V socket, conveniently located

behind the ‘B’ pillar trim, allowing you to use electrical equipment up to a maximum of

150W, without having to connect to the external 230V mains hook-up.

The new California offers you complete motoring comfort. Driver and front

passenger swivelling seats feature lumbar support and armrests, and are also

heated, while such features as air conditioning, front electric windows, heated

exterior mirrors, remote central locking and a RCD 310 Radio/CD player with

eight speakers ensure total comfort and convenience.

This exceptional vehicle is sure-footed, too, with high body rigidity, large anti-roll

bars, McPherson suspension struts and independent rear suspension combining

to ensure a dynamic driving experience. Naturally, safety is paramount, which is

CO2 Emissions.

The weight of a vehicle will influence the level of CO2

emission it produces; as a result, vehicles with higher levels of specification and factory fitted options may emit higher levels of CO

2.

The CO2 figure quoted for each vehicle is the maximum

possible. The unladen weight of the vehicle is calculated by range at the time of manufacture and the maximum possible CO

2 emission for that weight range is applied

according to the Council Directive 80/1268EEC as amended by Commission Directive 1999/100/EC on the approximation of the laws of the member states relating to the carbon dioxide emissions and the fuel consumption of motor vehicles.

The Volkswagen warranty.Three-year warranty.All new Volkswagen Caravelles and Californias come with a three-year/100,000 miles warranty, which protects your vehicle against the failure of most mechanical and electrical components due to manufacturing defects. This comprises a two-year manufacturer’s warranty with unlimited mileage plus a further one-year/100,000 miles (whichever is soonest) Van Centre warranty. Should the mileage exceed 100,000 miles within the first two years, the manufacturer’s two-year warranty will still be valid. If an additional warranty for subsequent years or higher mileage is desired, it may be purchased from an authorised Volkswagen Van Centre* or repairer; however, this additional warranty must be purchased before the mileage reaches 100,000. Full details of the three-year warranty are available from your authorised Volkswagen Van Centre* or repairer.

12-year Body Protection warranty.The internal body sections and panels of all vehicles are covered against rusting through from the inside for 12 years. Service intervals for Diesel Engines.**The LongLife Service regime is so called because there are no set intervals. The intervals between services will vary depending on how you drive your vehicle and the conditions of use. There is however maximum time/distance parameters set and if the service light has not already come on it will do so when either the maximum mileage or time limit is met. The maximum mileage/time parameters vary by model, for more detailed information on LongLife Service regimes and their suitability for your requirements please contact your local Van Centre.

If you would like a more traditional service regime the vehicle can be adapted by your authorised Volkswagen Van Centre or Van Service Centre to the Time/Distance regime. This can be done at the point of vehicle sale or when an inspection service is carried out. An oil change is required at every 10,000 miles on the Time/Distance regime.

Volkswagen approved accessories purchased from and fitted by your authorised Volkswagen Van Centre at the point of vehicle sale will also benefit from the three-year vehicle warranty.
