Theinitialwatercontentwassubtractedfromsuccessivetestingvaluestonormalizetheconcentrationofwaterovertime.

Testing MethodsUsing a dried 18-gauge needle, triplicate sample sets from 100 mL bottles received four new punctures per liner each week (5 weeks total) throughout the test schedule for a total of 20 punctures per liner. At the end of each interval, the overcaps were secured by torqu-ing the cap using a force of 40 in-lbs. Throughout the study, both the new Aldrich Sure/Seal System and Competitor A's System were keptunderthesametypicallaboratorystorageconditions(averagetemperature~18˚C(+/-2.7˚C),relativehumidity~39%(+/-4.6%)).

The above photos illustrate the effects of repetitive punctures (4 per week) using a dried 18-gauge needle The Aldrich Sure/Seal System liner was not prone to upward swelling nor did it show evidence of bowing. Competitor A’s liner demonstrated dramaticlinerdamageduringtherepetitivepuncturetestinginboththeTolueneandn-Hexane,howeversignificantwatergainwasnotobservedinthen-Hexanesamples.
