PRAYER OF THE DAY
In the midst of the ONE who is life, we open ourselves to MYSTERY. Let our words and ideas about the nature of our CREATOR, slip away so that we may know the rhythm of DIVINE breath. Let us open our hearts and minds to the wonders of Cosmos. Let us rejoice in the presence of the ONE who is LOVE, beyond measure now and always. Amen.

GOSPEL: John 3:1-17
A certain Pharisee named Nicodemus, a member of the Sanhedrin, came to Jesus at night. “Rabbi,” he said, “we know you’re a teacher come from God, for no one can perform the signs and wonders you do, unless by the power of God.” Jesus gave Nicodemus this answer: “The truth of the matter is, unless one is born again, one cannot see the kindom of God.” Nicodemus said, “how can an adult be born a second time? I can’t go back into my mother’s womb to be born again!” Jesus replied: “The truth of the matter is, no one can enter God’s kindom without being born of water and the Spirit. What is born of the flesh is flesh; what is born of the Spirit is Spirit. So don’t be surprised when I tell you that you must be born from above. The wind blows where it will. You hear the sound it makes, but you don’t know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the spirit.” “How can this be possible?” asked Nicodemus. Jesus replied, “You’re a teacher of Israel, and you still don’t understand these matters? The truth of the matter is, we’re talking about what we know; we’re testifying about what we’ve seen—yet you don’t accept our testimony. If you don’t believe when I tell you about earthly things, how will you believe when I tell you about heavenly things? No one has gone up to heaven except One who came down from heaven—the Chosen One. As Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so the Chosen One must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in the Chosen One might have eternal life. Yes, God so loved the world as to give the Only Begotten One, that whoever believes may not die, but have eternal life. God sent the Only Begotten into the world not to condemn the world, but that through the Only Begotten the world might be saved.

PRAYERS:
Dancing in and around the ONE who IS MYSTERY, we open ourselves to the LOVE that lives and breathes in, with, through, and beyond us. Jane Winstanley I long to be born again! To see and experience life anew. I feel disillusioned about life. Apathetic perhaps. Repeated lockdowns, loss of 3 people I treasured. Nightly news of endless violence. I long to see through the eyes of a child again, to see dandelions as precious, bright and beautiful! To find fascination in ordinary things. To be in awe of nature, fountains and mountains, elephants and giraffe. To watch the moon and the stars with amazement. I long to hear clearly again - as if for the first time - water running over rocks, birds singing in the trees and wind rustling through the leaves. To hear the sound of babies laughing at simple things. To listen to music and be moved to tears of joy. I long to find my own voice, To speak up for fairness, to speak out against injustice. To speak of love or to sing aloud without being self conscious. DIVINE ONE, renew in me the spirit of a child, a spirit of wonder and excitement in life. Help me to rediscover joy and delight in your Creation. Renew my heart and mind and spirit – fill me with passion for life – rebirth me with the breath of your SPIRIT. Eric Schultz DIVINE PRESENCE that is within, around and beyond: My prayer this day, as it is most days, is that today, to the best of my ability, I be part of “the good” and be LOVE in the world. A version of this prayer is in me most mornings after hearing the news of the night before. Although there may have been a stabbing or shooting, there are also millions of people whose goodness is not deemed newsworthy. Giving thanks for the unreported goodness each day and striving to embody that Love is my prayer. Yet, my spirit is restless, is this enough? I do not, and never will know what it is like to have new life conceived and growing inside of me, but I imagine it is something like the restless mystery of my spirit. It is part of me, not separate from me, yet not me. Pregnancy has an expected gestation and birth time. It is linear, almost binary; whereas the mystery in me grows and comes to life in wonderful and surprising ways with an unpredictable schedule. I pray that concepts of Trinity break binary thinking; more than good/bad, dark/light, saint/sinner; thus constantly opening to rebirth; within, around and beyond. Andrew Slonetsky This Trinity Sunday, I reflect on how dramatic a re-ordering it was for the early church. Likewise, I’m thinking about this window of opportunity we find ourselves in today. The same-old assumptions and ways of doing things have been challenged. We’ve been forced to live differently both individually and as a society. I hear of people discovering joys in cooking, walking in nature and not commuting so much. I also feel for those who have lost so much: their health, their education, their loved ones…
I believe that all of this can lead to a wiser future. We can choose to seek a more mature society that strives for more inclusiveness and fairness. In a way, I pray that this current journey helps us to become more able to think and act globally about the current climate crisis. This, I believe, will require even greater changes to the status quo. May we be open to God’s SPIRIT today and take what we have learned and continue to become better caretakers of our true selves, each other and this beautiful planet. Marney Curran When we leave this lockdown, I want to take with me what I have learned about myself and the world. I don’t want to go back to the way things were or forget the past. I believe we must remember, and within that remembering, actively choose to approach life differently, appreciating more deeply what we have and what is important. May we carry forward that which will make us our better selves as we look forward to a return to routine. May we remember that which we have come through, and those who worked so tirelessly to bring us to this point. May we continue to seek to be agents of your peace, joy, and LOVE in all that we do. Sharon Willan MYSTERY singing creation into being, dancing through billions of years, always greeting every newness, surrounding, imbuing all in LOVE. HOLY ONE, You love every particle of Creation, every creature, every human without exception. In you there are no ethnicities, races, or genders, no ways of believing in You. In You, all is ONE, all is totally interconnected, all is relationship. As we begin the uphill return to life with others, May we die to our old ways of thinking; Our old ways of excluding; Our old ways of relating to this exquisite gift of Life on Earth. Instead, may we join your dance of total LOVE, Following the Way of Jesus who always pointed to You. Reaching out to those who think differently, who live in the margins, Those who can barely eke out an existence. May we, like Jesus, offer only words of compassion, not judgement. May we open and enlarge our minds and hearts To acknowledge your WHOLENESS, your ONENESS. May we humbly walk into this new “normal” with renewed passion Knowing you are here in our sorrow and our joy. May the HOLY ONE continue to dance in, with, through, and beyond us so that all may know the power of LOVE. In the name of the ONE who IS our LOVER, BELOVED, and LOVE itself, Amen.
SONG: Go Between God
BLESSING:
May that LOVE, the AGAPE, breathe in, with, through, and beyond, you, AGAPE, now and always… may our LOVER, BELOVED, and LOVE itself be born in you again, and again, and again … Breathe deep, dear ONEs, so the world may see in you, the baselia ton theon, the family of the ONE that is BEYOND, the BEYOND, and BEYOND that also… YAHWEH the LOVE which is DIVINE MYSTERY… our AAAAHHHH

Holy Cross will NOT be receiving the Provincial Grant we had hoped for. Council is operating under the “Basic Budget” which was approved by the congregation. Currently we are running a DEFICIT of $7,385.31 which means we are eating into last year’s surplus in order to meet our commitments. Clearly, this is not sustainable. The Federal Payroll Subsidy is considerably less than last year and is due to expire in June. Several big-ticket expenses came due in the first quarter: Insurance, Lift maintenance, and several Online revenues will not be realized until the fall.
Please prayerfully consider your financial support. So, that together we can reduce our deficit.
