Results of the PutschThe Nazi party was banned and Hitler prevented from speaking in public until 1927Hitler went to prison where he wrote his book, this became very well know along with his ideas.Hitler realised that he would never come to power by revolution and set out planning other strategies of getting into power.

• The White Rose group was formed by students at Munich university. They handed round opposition leaflets but were discovered and executed

• Swing groups were formed by young people, they smoked, drank and listened to jazz music. They rejected the Nazi values.

• Edelweiss Pirates were more violent groups. They daubed anti-Nazi slogans, sheltered deserters and eat up Nazi officers. In 1944 a group of ‘pirates’ killed a Gestapo chief, so 12 of them were publicly hanged.

• The Kreisau Circle tried to bomb Hitler. They were a group of army officers and intellectuals, the bomb exploded, but Hitler survived and 5000 were executed
