Primary Requirements on the Path of Liberation
The path to liberation must be void of the two things: thoughts
about women
and money. There is no religion where there are thoughts of
these two. This
entire world continues to be in existence because of these two.
How many
places are there in this world that having nothing to do with
money?
Questioner: None at all.
Dadashri: That is why people cannot become free from their
attachment
towards money! Even the Gurus of religion have this attachment.
It is
because of kaliyug! So wherever there are thoughts of women and
money,
you will not find real religion there. I am not referring to the
people at largebut to the religious leaders. Otherwise what
difference is there between the
ordinary people and the Gurus? A third thing that is required of
a Guru is
the right vision.
You should not waste your time with any Guru who has any
attachment for
money or women. Chose your Guru only after close scrutiny. It
does not
matter if he travels in cars but his conduct must be right. It
does not matter
even if he has a little ego and he likes people giving him lot
of respect, but
he must have the right conduct.
Questioner: Money and women go against religion, but it is also
said that
women are more religious.
Dadashri: There is no question about it. But the problem is when
women
are looked upon with lust. They are regarded as objects of
enjoyment.
Women are Pure Souls not objects of physical pleasure.
Questioner: So every Guru must have a pure conduct.
Dadashri: Yes. His conduct must be absolutely pure. His
disciples may
not have pure conduct, but he must. He cannot be considered a
Guru with
anything but pure conduct. Even this incense is so fragrant; it
fills the room
with its fragrance. Similarly a Guru must have fragrance
too.
