MARRIAGES: The Archdiocese of Omaha requires a minimal six months waiting period for proper preparation for marriage. It is best to contact the parish a year in advance and the RC adult should be a registered member of the Parish, and/or parents should be registered members of the Parish. SACRAMENT OF THE SICK: Celebrated individually upon request. If someone is seriously ill or hospitalized please call the rectory.

Stewardship Thoughts ”The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of

God, and if children then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.” -Romans 8:16-

If we are heirs to the kingdom of God, shouldn’t we work to build up His kingdom? Shouldn’t we be good stewards of our inheritance, using our time, talent, and treasure to care for the Church that God has left to us? Our Church is a treasured heirloom from God. Do we treat it that way? Children’s good deed: “I helped in the garden; I read some books to my little brother.”

PRAYER to HOLY SPIRIT

From Your Pastor… In our liturgical cycle, we entered Ordinary Time this past

week, yet this weekend and the next we still honor two

important Solemnities. With our celebration of Holy

Trinity this Sunday, we are invited to reflect on this

infinite mystery of our Christian faith: God in three

persons, (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) yet one, equal in

power, substance and majesty. Since God is omniscient,

we will never be able to comprehend him nor his merciful

love, yet he created us and designed us for relationships,

just as the Holy Trinity is made of relationships. It is

through the gift of relationships that we learn about

another and discover incredible truths about ourselves and

one another. The first reading from Deuteronomy accents

that Moses reminded the people about God and his desires

for us, as we read: “This is why you must now know,

and fix in your heart, that the Lord is God in the

heavens above and on earth below, and that there is no

other. You must keep his statues and commandments

that I enjoin on you today, that you and your children

after you may prosper, and that you may have a long

life on the land.” Let us praise the Holy Trinity!

New Lectors/EMHC are needed: Prayerfully consider if

you are called to help the parishes in one of these ministries. Please email the parish office or call Fr. Mark at the rectory, if you are interested. One education class is required in August along with attending the Mandation ceremony in early September in Omaha. Thank you to Kass Bromm for scheduling liturgical ministers and servers each month for St. Patrick and Kay Kellogg for Holy Family. Summer can get busy and schedules are unpredictable. Please be responsible and find a sub if you are unable to be present for your scheduled time!

FAITH FACT What are the Four Marks of the Church?

When we proclaim the Nicene Creed every weekend or on holydays at Mass, we recite:”We believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.” These four traits are known as the four marks of the Church, describing something essential about the Church and its mission. The CCC (Catechism of the Church) summarizes what it means to say the Church is one. Hence, every Christian shares the beliefs that we are all children of God the Father, that we are saved by Jesus, his son, and that we are made holy by the Holy Spirit. As we celebrate Holy Trinity Sunday, we are reminded that the very foundation of the Church is the Blessed Trinity; thus, the unity of the Church reflects the unity of the Trinity. In addition, we believe the Roman Catholic Church is united in a special way through the leadership of the Pope, currently Pope Francis. Our union and support with the Pope is a visible symbol of our unity and desire to share in the mission of Jesus entrusted to his apostles at Pentecost.

The Lighter Side A mother and her youngest daughter wrote out the Ten Commandments and posted them in their home. Not long after that, the youngest reported that her older sister was sinning. The mother asked why, and she replied, “She is committing adultery.” Later the parents had a private conversation with the youngest daughter. “I understand you think your sister is committing adultery,” the father said. “Why do you say that?” “Well,” the youngest replied, “she is always trying to act like an adult!”

Sunday June 21 – Father’s Day- Spirit 102.7-FM presents

the first-ever I-80 Collar Series – a softball match between

priests of the Diocese of Lincoln and the Archdiocese of

Omaha. Game time is 5:00 PM. All proceeds from ticket sales

will assist in promoting vocations in the two dioceses. More

information on flyer in entry.
