• Beneficial for regulators and consumers:– similar processes and standards, – derived from evidence – risk based decision making

• the importance of technical standards when operators are considering entering a market– economies of scale for gambling activities– cost of compliance– ability to use tried and tested products

Inconsistencies mean:

• Management and compliance problems• Fragmentation of online gambling market• Unnecessary duplication of company and

regulatory infrastructures

• support innovation– Better KYC– Improvements to game architecture– increased consumer transparency

• create a level playing field– Enable new entrants to develop products– Enables product launches in a number of

jurisdiction
