Special Called Session of Annual Conference In response to the Leadership Team’s request in December,
Bishop Elaine JW Stanovsky has called a special session of the
Alaska United Methodist Conference to vote on a petition to
General Conference asking for Alaska to be released from
missionary conference status at the close of the 2020
Jurisdictional Conference, so that the Western Jurisdiction can
include Alaska within the boundaries of another conference in the
same Episcopal Area. It will be on February 22, 2020, 10am to
2pm at the Alaska UM Conference Center.

& Life Lessons
Today’s Lesson God used a young Israelite girl that had been
enslaved to bring a powerful man, the general for King of Aram, to
believe in God by recommending that he go to a prophet in
Samaria, Elisha to clear his leprosy. When he was healed of leprosy,
he professed his belief in only one God, the God of Israel.
Feb 23 Josiah was only 8 years old when he became king of Israel.
He was one of the few kings of Israel who was faithful to God. He
urged his people to be faithful to God. King Josiah ordered all idols
be destroyed and they begin celebrating the Passover again.
