Morris In 3rd Jubal Award Recital The third in the Jubal Award series of concerts will be played by Erma Morris, pianist, Sunday. ; February 18 in the lecture room I of the Art institute at 4:30 pm. j For her third recital Mias Morris has chosen compositions by Chopin, many of them familiar to music- lovers; and selections from the works of Scnabme, a composer to the public, since they are only infrequently played. Mist Morris will pre/ace her performance of each number with a short commen- tary. a procedure w’hich met with wide approval at her last recital. Several applications have already been received from young Detroit musicians. The committee in charge of this award is eager to receive more and wishes to make It clear that all young Negro violinists and pianists living in the metropolitan area of Detroit are eligible to ap- ply. These forums are a direct challenge to the youth of Detroit who are ii terested in de- bating and solving the many prob- lems which confront them. The Youth Progressive club ismaking preparations for a big pro-gram to be held Sunday. Feb. 18.at the Twelve Ho-semen’s club lo-cated at 323 Erskine street. It is a«econd of a series of youth forumsthat is given on the third Sundayin each month. These forums area direct challenge to the youth ofDetroit who are ii terested in de-bating and solving the many prob-lems which confront them.
