DeaconHeading had lived in theBrownsville area for many years,and was active in civic, fratern-al and church activities. He issurvived by his widow, Katie, 3sons, 3 daughters, and manyother relatives. Services wereconducted on Thursday, Aug. 2at 3 pjn. at Antioch BaptistChurch, Brownsville, Rev. Rich-ardson is the pastor. Rev. W. F.Tanner of St. Mary’s Church, Co-conut Grove officiated. Thefuneral was largely attended.Burial was conducted in LincolnMemorial Cemetery.
JOHN ROBERT McGELL of875 NW 12th st., Florida City, was•pronounced dead on arrival atJackson Memorial Hospital on theevening of July 27. Survivors arehis wife, Willie Ruth, five youngchildren, his mother and otherrelatives. He will be taken Fridaynight to Concord, Ga. where finalrites and burial will be conduct-ed on Sunlay.

Mrs. Thomas was a pioneerMiamian, and among the oldestmembers of Mt. Zion BaptistChurch. Services were conduct-ed on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 3:00p.m. with Rev. Graham officiat-ing. Burial was conducted inLincoln Memorial Cemetery.

MR. ULYSSES COVINGTON,vho resided at 611 NW Ist Ct.\pt. No. 1, died July 26, just oneO) mile south of Islamorada onthe Florida Keys a& a result of anutomobile accident. Mr. Coving-
ton, a truck driver for the Nation-al Produce Co. was enroute toKey West with a shipment ofvegetables when he became thevictim of a freak accident. In th**several years of residency, he hadbecome very well known in manycircles and societies. The remainswere transported to FitzgeraldGa., Monday August 1, for funer-al rites and interment. His deathis mourned by his wife, a brotherand several other relatives andfriends.
MR. JACOB HARRIS PLUM-MER, JR., who lived at 6100 SW62nd Terr. South Miami, wa?pronounced dead on arrival at theDade County Hospital, July 29after a rather speedy attempt tcthe hospital by car proved futileMr. Plummer had lived in theSouth Florida area for more than33 years and had acquired num-erous friends and associates dur-ing that time. Funeral serviceswill be held Saturday August 4at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet BaptistChurch in South Miami. He issurvived by his wife, severa 1children and a host of other re-latives and friends. Interment willtake place at Lincoln Memoria 1Park.

He continuedthrough the years to live a richfull and active life in civic acti-vities of the - community. Forover forty years he was affiliatedwith Most Worshipful Union ofFree and Accepted Masons, havingattained the 32 degree, Star ofthe East Chapter No. 72 order ofEastern Star, Odd Fellows, GoodSamaritans and the AmericanWoodman. He was a member ofMt. Tabor Baptist Church. Theend came quietly and peacefullyThursday afternoon. July 26th.after a very brief illness.
