How to install the scale drivers for Mettler VCO II and Mettler VCODisp

Workflow On the scale

If you use the programs of the directory VCOII Driver - Embedded FE

1a. Installation of drivers METTLER TOLEDO for the scale Copy in a work directory (in our example C:\VCO II Drivers – Embedded FE \ the drivers VCO files of the scale

1b. and install them by clicking first on one, then on the other program, to start the installation, which will generate automatically a configuration file vcodisp.xml

1) MT-MTHI.msi 2) VCODisp-devel-3.0.10.0000.msi

1c. Eventually, select the directory where the configuration file was generated, and click on the program vcoconf.exe to check and in case update the configuration file vcodisp.xml just generated.

If you use the programs of the directory VCODisp

1a. Installation of drivers METTLER TOLEDO for the scale Copy in a work directory (in our example C:\VCO Disp\) the drivers VCO files of the scale

1b. After unzipping the zip file, select the directory bin where the programs are contained, and execute the installation program vcodisp.exe that will generate automatically the configuration file vcodisp.xml

1c. Eventually, select the directory where the configuration file vcodisp.xml was generated (see next chapter) and execute the vcoconf.exe program to set the parameters stored in this file.

Common process for the two types of drivers

2a. Installation of driver TCPOS for the scale Copy the TCPOS driver VCOII in the directory where the FrontEnd executable TCPOS.FrontEnd.exe is.

Frontend > Executables > 4.5.x.x > VcoScaleII.dll VcoScaleII.dic

2b. Installation of the TCPOS driver for the scale certification In the directory where the Frontend executable is, copy the dll for the scale certification

Frontend > Executables > 4.5.x.x > Scale.dll

2c. Installation of the TCPOS driver that manages the labels printer Copy also the dll used to print the labels directly on the scale printer (in our example we used a Mettler Toledo)

Frontend > Executables > 4.5.x.x > MettlerScalePrinter.dll

2d. Installation of the TCPOS ScaleSelfLabeling plugin in the directory plugins, copy the dll and the dic files of the plugin

Frontend > Executables > 4.5.x.x > Plugin.ScaleSelfLabeling.FrontEnd.dll Plugin.ScaleSelfLabeling.FrontEnd.dic

How to configure the vcodisp.xml file created by the installation According to the scale type, the programs used for the installation create automatically the configuration file vcodisp.xml in a different directory.

Scale type File VCODISP.xml path

Scale that uses VCOII C:\ProgramData\Mettler Toledo\VCODisp\etc

Scale that uses VCODISP C:\Program Files (X86)\Mettler Toledo\VCODisp\etc

It is worth mentioning that the position may change according to the operative system; in the example aside we show the path after installing an environment with Windows Embedded

Since FrontEnd searches for it in the dir ProgramData by default, if necessary, the path must be indicated in the device string, thanks to the parameter ConfigFolder=

SCALE Type=VcoScaleII.dll Mode=Packaging ConfigFolder="C:\ProgramData\METTLER TOLEDO\VCODisp"

Operational configuration steps

by clicking on the program vcoconf.exe you execute the configuration of the file vcodisp.xml.

The parameters set refer to the installation used to write this guide.
