(Mic. 6:8 ESV) God’s prophets were writing to the nation of Israel trying to get them to return to God. He was tired of their religious practice which was long on ceremony but had very little to do with change in their lives. What did God want? What does He want now? “Do justice.” Do what is right toward all men. Treat others fairly. Do toward others what you would want them to do toward you. Avoid being a respecter of particular individuals. Be fair, truthful and honest with all people. “Love kindness.” Show mercy, forgiveness and patience toward all. “Walk humbly with your God.” Honor Him as God. Listen carefully to His word. Do not move from it. Submit to Him and to His will. These are the words the prophets wrote to try and save a nation. We as a nation and as individuals would do well to heed these words from God delivered through His prophets. -Dewayne Teen • Give Kids the World Mission Trip: July 13-20. • Mission Hometown: July 24- 28. • Big House Retreat: August 2-4; Cost: $80; Deadline: July 24.

The Message

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? (Mic. 6:8 ESV)

God’s prophets were writing to the nation of Israel trying to get them to return to God. -Dewayne

One More Thing About Baja

Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV) Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

If you were at services last Sunday night, you heard Ray Betz give an excellent presentation on our work with the Guadalupe Valley Church in Baja, Mexico. So much good was done, we were all mutually edified. One thing you didn’t hear is the amount of work it takes to bring to completion a work like this.

Ray and Michele Betz spent months organizing this successful mission trip. Countless hours on the phone, making arrangements for hotels, airfare, arranging transportation in Baja. Also coordinating with the locals to make sure we have the things needed so we are not held back when we arrive. Ensuring everyone had a visa, passport, and also packing list, because the weather is crazy there. Once in Baja, preparations had to be made for food for the group, also, plenty of water and essential medications in case someone got sick. This is not even the complete list of all it took. Ray and Michele Betz dedicated months on this ministry. If you see them, please let them know we appreciate them, love them and we look forward to next time where God will be glorified. - David

Summer Mission Trips

July 13-20, a group of our teens will be traveling to Orlando, Florida to Give Kids the World Village. They partner with Make a Wish Foundation. Throughout the summer, they will also be doing several local mission projects: (Mission Hometown July 24-28) to help in our community. If you would like to donate to these mission efforts, please earmark your check for teen summer missions. You may turn in your checks to any of the office staff. Above all, remember us in your prayers this summer. Thank you.

QUESTIONS FOR WEDNESDAY, JULY 10:

1. How do we answer someone who does not believe the Bible is he inspired word of God?

2. Why do so many “Bible Scholars” refute or deny the Bible’s claim to inspiration, Jesus, times of writing various books or other Bible subjects?

3. What are some outside evidences that the Bible is a trustworthy collection of books and letters?

4. What criterion was used to accept the 66 books as inspired and to reject others as not inspired?

Sympathy

Our sympathy is extended to Rodney and Sue Morris in the death of Sue’s sister, Ann Sartin.

Congratulations

Bobby and Alicia Frye proudly announce the birth of their daughter, Isla Clark Frye. She was born Tuesday, July 2, and weighed 9lbs, 2 oz. Olivianna is the proud big sister and the proud grandfather is Steve Frye.

Congratulations

We rejoice with Xander Crawford who was baptized at Maywood. Xander, an eighth grader, is the son of Baron and Leann Crawford and the grandson of Robert and Carol Crawford.
