The Merrimon-Wynne House is Raleigh’s premier wedding venue located in the heart of downtown Raleigh. It is just a few short blocks from Historic Oakwood and the Governor’s Mansion, and the house and grounds embody history, Southern charm, and elegance.
The inspiration behind Merrimon-Wynne’s transformation into a wedding venue was the idea that the house’s rich history and beauty would serve as the perfect backdrop for an inviting yet grand
celebration. The mansion was built in 1876 and it was restored to its original grandeur in 2014 so that couples can experience the magic of Merrimon-Wynne and share it with their guests
on their wedding day.

THE LAWN
The Merrimon-Wynne House lawn allows couples
and their guests to experience the beautiful North Carolina weather
under a canopy of century-old pecan trees.
With luscious landscaping outlining the grounds, this
outdoor setting becomes the perfect ceremony backdrop.
THE CARRIAGE HOUSE
The inside of the Carriage House is great for couples
who prefer to have an indoor ceremony. It can also
serve as a quick and easy backup plan in the event of
rain, heat, or cold. The climate-controlled space gives you a crisp, clean
backdrop for your ceremony with gorgeous chandeliers to
line your aisle.
THE PERGOLA
The Pergola is a space for couples who would like to have a covered, enclosed space but still have lots of natural light flooding in.
With clear, drop-down sides, the Pergola can be used in the event of rain and still
give you a feeling of being outdoors.
THE MAIN HOUSE
The Main House has a variety of spaces that can be used to create intimate
ceremony locations for 10-80 guests. With the House’s large floor-to-
ceiling windows, neutral backdrop, and unique
chandeliers, any room can give you a beautiful
romantic setting.

THE MAIN HOUSE
The Main House is the most popular space for cocktail hour. Often guests will flow from the wedding ceremony
into the house and mingle throughout each of the distinct rooms on the main level, while sipping a cocktail and
enjoying appetizers prior to the reception.
THE LAWN
The Lawn is a lovely place for cocktails prior to the reception. Cocktails on the lawn allow guests to wander
the gardens and enjoy the beautiful North Carolina weather. Merrimon-Wynne provides complimentary lawn
game which are a fun addition to any event.

COCKTAIL HOUR
THE LAWN
The Lawn is a great option for couples that would like to host their
dinner under the stars. The Merrimon-Wynne lawn can
accomodate up to 300 guests, and it can have a tent or market lights
added to create a romantic intimate feel in the middle of downtown
Raleigh.
THE CARRIAGE HOUSE
The Carriage House is Merrimon-Wynne’s newest addition and can host up to 200 guests for a seated dinner and up to 250 guests for a mingling-style event. It is the perfect complement to the main house’s rich character and crisp neutral canvas. Chandeliers and
crystal sconces carry throughout both spaces and accentuate the natural
light that floods in during the day. The Carriage House is the perfect place for dinner, dancing, and hosting a
wonderful celebration!
THE MAIN HOUSE
The Main House is a wonderful option for couples who want to maximize
their guests’ experience in the historic home. The house can seat up to 150 guests throughout the four unique
rooms on the main level. The house can also provide an elegant location
for dancing in the main ballroom.

The Bridal Suite is a bright and tranquil space for the bridal party to relax and get ready throughout the day. The large, original windows and natural light make it an ideal setting for hair and makeup and for getting ready pictures. With two conjoining rooms and a private bath, the Bridal Suite gives the bride and her bridesmaids plenty of room to spread out or come together
for a toast (or two)!
The Bridal Suite includes a vanity, several cozy sitting areas, a dining table to set up brakfast or lunch, a Keurig coffee maker, and plenty of mirrors. We provide our bridal parties with pitchers of
water and orange juice as well as champagne to start their day. A house host will be on site to help make sure the morning of the wedding is as seamless as possible.

THE BRIDAL EXPERIENCE
The Groom’s Room is a masculine retreat for a groom and his groomsmen to get dressed and get ready onsite. The room serves as a great setting for getting ready pictures and it overlooks our
ceremony lawn.
The Groom’s Room includes plush leather furniture, a flatscreen TV with digital cable, a bumper pool and poker table, and a bar cart that will be filled with an assortment of beers, soft drinks,
and water when the gentlemen arrive.

- Complete use of the mansion and the beautifully landscaped grounds beginning at 10AM, if you’d like to arrive prior to 10 AM, please reach out to a Merrimon-Wynne staff member for additional pricing information- Two bridal preparation suites- Coffee water and orange juice provided in the bridal suite upon arrival- Grooms preparation suite- An on-site ceremony rehearsal 1-2 days prior to your wedding- Separate ceremony and reception space- 200 ceremony/reception chairs and 20 adjustable high top cocktail tables- 4 six foot tables with black linens and 4 eight foot tables with black linens- Access to Merrimon-Wynne logos and other artwork for use in wedding weekend printed materials and invitations
- The Merrimon-Wynne House is over 5,000 square feet and the grounds cover almost an acre of land in the middle of downtown Raleigh- There is ample parking available for events at The Merrimon-Wynne House- Due to the historic nature of the property and the liability policy, all alcohol must be controlled and therefore purchased through The Merrimon-Wynne House, absolutely no off site alcohol is permitted- The Merrimon-Wynne House offers a variety of bar packages- Fridays in May-June and September-October and all 2017 Saturdays have a $4,000 bar minimum, not inclusive of bar staffing- It is required that all events conclude no later than 11:00pm- Renters are required to use a caterer and wedding coordinator from our Preferred Vendors List- All events are required to use a wedding coordinator from our Preferred Vendors List- The rental rate of the venue is as follows: Friday or Sunday: $6,000 Saturday: $8,000- If you are interested in a wedding date between January 1 - March 12 or December 2017, please ask us about our special pricing- The rental rate is inclusive of all taxes and fees associated with the venue- If the carriage house is not used, $1,000 will be deducted from your rental rate- We offer a special package for Friday brides to rent the venue on Thursday for any wedding weekend needs (rehearsal dinner, bridal luncheon, etc.) for an additional $1,000- Please note, rates are subject to change until a contract is signed.

ADDITIONAL BAR FEES & NOTES
A $4,000 bar minimum will be applied to all Saturday events as well as Friday events in May, June, September and October. Please note that there is a 1% Wake County sales tax on beverage cost, and a 6.75% North Carolina sales tax added to your beverage cost. In addition, there is a
20% administration service fee on the subtotal of the bar cost. There is also a $100 bartender fee for each bartender needed for the first 3 hours with an additional $25 per hour for each additional hour. Hours are based on the time the bar is open as well as one hour for set up and one hour for
breakdown. A barback is required for each wedding at a fee of $15 per hour. Gratuity for bartenders is not included. Please note, rates are subject to change until a contract is signed.
