    When Grace strikes,

A clod of earth is turned to a pile of gold.

The common stone is charged with alchemy

    When Grace strikes

The Fortune that for years and years I sought,

Look now flashes in my sight

There, in a temple !uried in earth,

    I ha"e seen a Gem,

And cast my past !ehind me,

    Fore"er, #h$ Guheshwar%

The creeper I sought so long is now

    A!out my leg entwined.

The longing of my heart is now

    Within my grasp

    Like a poor man stum!ling upon a tro"e,

    With a seeker&s tireless steps I ha"e come

    And seen the Inconcei"a!le

And !eheld the sweep of my consciousness

'y whole !eing, within and without,

    (athed in supernal splendour,

I ha"e ga)ed at the *ource of all light

I ha"e seen my *upreme 'aster

With his ga)e of unfathoma!le wonder

+oncentrating upon the em!lem on his palm.

    And ha"ing seen, I ha"e !een sa"ed,

#h$ Guheshwara.%The meeting of ra!hu and Animisha, as ra!hu himself relates, was like the meeting of mutes for, as Animisha was

lost in trance, he remained without speech and action. ra!hu was eager to ha"e his initiation, !ut Animisha was

silent-!ound. ow could it !e effected/ It was effected through the silent transmission of power, through the transfer

of Linga from the palm of one&s hand to the palm of another. The Linga, charged with power touched ra!hu and

turned him into an adept !y emptying him of 0armamala.

    #h$ Guheshwaralinga, !y remo"ing

All the contents of the unconscious,

3ou emptied me into the superconscious.Where is the cuckoo, and where the mango tree/

    And yet they meet.

Where is the myro!alan, child of the hills,

    And where the sea-!red salt/

    And yet they meet

4"en so ha"e we met, you and I

In 5eerashai"a terminology Linga is the grace of Guru formulated. It cannot !e gainsaid that the grace of Animisha

wrought a miraculous change in ra!hu. Animisha, a mar"el of silent dynamism and magnetic personality attracted

ra!hu. e was steeped in God consciousness from which he radiated silent light which sparks out a Gospel of

silence that goes in the heart of ra!hu. Animisha neither speaks nor acts, yet he has mo"ed ra!hu intensely in the

realm of the 6i"ine. The silent communion has !een effected !y one inspiring the other. #f course words fail to

e1press this intimate communion. ra!hu, !eing freed from the fetters of malatraya !y "irtue of his self-discipline and

the 6i"ine Grace of Animisha, !ecame a pure man, a perfect man, a superman, a cosmic man. *uch a one is termed

*harana or 7angama in 5eerashai"ism. *harana in "irtue of his essence is the cosmic thought assuming flesh and

connecting the A!solute with the world of nature. While e"ery appearance shows some attri!ute of 8eality, *harana&s

microcosm in which all attri!utes are united, and in all its di"erse aspects. To state it otherwise, the A!solute ha"ing

completely reali)ed itself *harana returns into itself through him. God and man !ecome one in the perfect man 9 the

enraptured prophet or saint whose religious function as a mediator !etween man and God corresponds with his

metaphysical function as the unifying principle !y means of which the opposite terms of reality and appearance are

harmoni)ed. ence the upward mo"ement of the a!solute from the sphere of manifestation !ack to the unmanifest

essence takes place in and through the intuiti"e e1perience of *harana. *o there is an e1change of philosophy for

    mysticism.
