Colour Run

What an AMAZING afternoon was enjoyed by all at last Friday’s Run4Fun Colour Explosion! After two previous postponements we were fortunate to enjoy wonderful weather conditions on Friday for this event that truly captivated every child, every teacher and many parents who jumped at the opportunity to join in the fun and frivolity.

wide Sports in Schools Australia (SISA) program happening in our school each and every Wednesday afternoon throughout the year.

Thanks to Miss Choy, there’s over 150 outstanding photos from the event on our official school Facebook page. If you haven’t already done so, ‘like’ our page and check them out!

Young Leaders Day

Well done to our School Captain Zac, Vice-Captain Allissa, and Prefects Luc and Melisa who enjoyed an exceptional day in the city representing TMPS at Halogen Young Leaders Day. This awesome team learnt so much about leadership qualities from the likes of TV presenter Erin Molan, TV presenter, comedian and children's book author and illustrator, Rove McManus, former

Australian Netball captain and star on The Block, Bianca Chatfield and, everyone's favourite, inspirational speaker, John Coutis.

4500 primary-aged leaders from across New South Wales attended this event at the ICC Theatre at Darling Harbour. These guys are now well and truly ready to LEAD!

School Photos

School Photos Day is coming up on Tuesday, 17th March. All families received payment envelopes just over a week ago. Online payments must be made directly with The School Photographer via their website, not the school’s. Please ensure that you return the envelope by photo day.

ICAS – International Competitions and Assessments for Schools

A note has been issued today by Mr Prants to all students in Years 3-6 in regards to a new range of online assessments being offered at The Meadows PS, the ‘ICAS’ tests. ICAS stands for International Competitions and Assessments for Schools and students in Years 3 to 6 will have the opportunity in Term 3 to participate in a range of assessments for Science, Writing, Digital Technologies, English, Maths and Spelling. The assessments are suitable for students wishing to extend themselves academically and take up the personal challenge of competing in an international assessment. Please refer to the note for specific details about dates and the online registration and payment process.

Stewart House

Accompanying today’s newsletter you will find a ‘Stewart House Donation Drive 2020’ envelope. Stewart House, based at Curl Curl on Sydney’s northern beaches is a wonderful organisation which has been operating for almost 90 years.

Each year 1,700 public school children in need come to Stewart House from many parts of NSW and the ACT. During their stay, children are provided with optometric, dental and medical treatment as well as emotional support. This is balanced with health and educational programs and out of school activities to boost their self-esteem and to promote a healthier lifestyle.

All other costs associated with the children’s stay are met from charitable donations. That’s why your continued support of Stewart House is most important. Also, in 2020, your charitable donation of $2 or over will place you in the draw to with $4000 worth of holiday travel! All donations are due to school by the end of this term. Be sure to fill in the back of the envelope to be entered into the prize draw.

P&C News

The next meeting for the P&C will be held next Tuesday, 10th March. This will include the March general meeting as well as the Annual General Meeting (AGM) where elections will take place to form your 2020 P&C Executive team. Anyone wishing to vote in 2020, including 2019 members, need to ensure they have paid the $2 membership fee by next Monday at the latest.

Choir News

Each year The Meadows Senior Choir participates in the Blacktown Festival of Performing Arts Combined Choir and Education Week, both wonderful experiences for our students. We are currently finalising this year’s choir and have only 3 spots remaining. If your child has a choir note and wants to be part of this team, please make sure you return your note and BFOPA bus payment next week to save your spot. Thank you, Miss Byun

Stage 2 Overnight Excursion

For the first time The Meadows is offering an overnight excursion for students in Stage 2 during Term 2. Students will travel to Taronga Zoo and spend two days there, this means that students will be spending a night at the zoo!

What an amazing experience!

The cost of the excursion will be approximately $130.00 and will include coach transport, accommodation, activities, and ALL meals.

There are only 45 places available for this excursion and it is filling up fast. To secure your child’s place please ensure that you send in your note and deposit of $30 by Friday, 20th March.

Thank you, Miss Reyes
