The Mary MacKillop Prayer
Bountiful and loving God,
You filled the heart of Mary MacKillop with compassionate love
for those who
are in need and those at the margins of our society.
Inspired by her example, may we be led by your Spirit to reach
out to our brothers and sisters.
Give us generous hearts to respond to the cries of those who are
poor in our
community and in our world.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen Blessed Mary
of the Cross, standing with the vulnerable, pray for us.
Dear Parents
It was wonderful to watch our students competing at the Central
Downs Carnival last Friday.
They all gave of their very best in every event and we achieved
great results. We have a total
of 21 children who will be representing the Central Downs Team
at the Southern Downs Car-
nival on Friday, 16 August 2013. Congratulations to the children
and to Mr Maher for all the
extra training that he has completed with the children before
and after school. Mr Maher has
sent home forms for the carnival and he will be attending on the
day.
I would like to encourage all parents to offer their services to
assist the P & F with the Friday
Night Raffle at the Club Hotel. If every family could commit to
one Friday evening in the year
to run the raffle for 2 hours, we would be covered for every
Friday. Presently, our coordina-
tors, Troy and Simone Gillam often have to double-up week after
week without any help. The
funds raised on Friday evenings are a good source of income for
the P & F which helps fund
projects around the school. If you are able to help, please

Bull Sale Fundraiser The Santa Central Bull Sale will take place
on Wednesday, 25 September, 2013. We are looking for volunteers to
help in the can-teen on the day. All profits from the canteen are
donated to the St Francis de Sales P&F and this is a good
fundraiser for the school. If you are able to help, please contact
Georgie Meacle, the convenor for the day.

HEAD LICE There has been a case of Head Lice at the school. We
request that parents check their chil-dren’s hair and to treat
appropriately if required. They may return to school the day after
treatment. Please make sure that girls’ hair is tied up to avoid
the spread of the Lice.
