Title: Manager – Sport for Development Projects
Reporting Structure: The Manager - Sport for Development Projects reports to the Directors
Summary of Position To lead a team of Sport Development Officers to manage and ensure the effective implementation of TTASPE’s programmes/projects and to support the delivery of these programmes/projects locally and in the region while maintaining a high quality standard. This includes but is not limited to supporting project design, coordinating trainings, resource development and M&E.
Duties & Responsibilities Specific duties:
To line manage and work closely with the Sport Development Officers - supporting and monitoring the agreed work programme
To monitor and evaluate the implementation of the sport for development activities, setting targets and milestones for delivery
To produce update reports and review other reports as required
To develop and maintain strong working relationships with a number of external partners, including schools, communities, clubs, etc.
To attend and contribute to meetings and events as required, several of which may be outside normal office hours and on weekends
To manage resources and ensure budgets for sport for development activities are appropriate
To monitor and approve the expenditure of funds, both appropriated and non-appropriated, to ensure proper financial procedures have been followed
To review proposals and recommend for approval, modification or rejection
To identify potential opportunities for external funding
To perform other duties as required which are considered relevant to the post and to the
TTASPE’s vision and objectives

Qualities Essential Desirable
Qualifications / Training
Basic management and project management training, coaching, physical education, community planning, social development, sport for development training, financial management & ITC proficiency
Some sport specific knowledge, health and safety training.
A degree in Sports Development, Coaching, PE, Sports Science or other relevant subject.
Knowledge and Experience
Experience of managing programmes and events, with a good track record of delivery against targets
Experience of working with different organizations and people at a variety of levels to develop effective partnerships and relationships
Knowledge and understanding of core sport for development principles
Knowledge of national and local policy frameworks for sport and sport for development initiatives
Minimum of three years experience of working in a sport environment
Experience of developing and supporting a volunteer workforce.
A sound knowledge of coaching theory and practice
Good understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection, Health and Safety and Equality principles, policies and procedures.
Skills Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to communicate with, and relate to a wide range of people and organizations
Ability to produce accurate data and high quality reports
High level influencing skills
Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritise work and set targets for self and others
Ability to motivate, manage and lead others to deliver targets and achieve full potential.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work efficiently on own initiative
Good level of ICT literacy with knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database packages
