DESCRIPTION
A copy of the original catalogue of John Mackenzie’s library, which was bequeathed for the use of a university in Charleston, but held at the Charleston Library Society until such a college was erected. While the majority of the books listed in this catalogue were lost in a fire at the Charleston Library Society in 1778, sixty-six volumes remain and are housed in the College of Charleston Addlestone Library’s Special Collections.
