The Spring bunny will be kicking off spring delivering seeds.

The Superstars 4-H Club will be opening envelopes containing Trout in the Classroom Quilt Squares

sent from around the United States. We will assemble the squares into a quilt in time for the

spring release of our trout.

Room 7 is looking forward to taking walks around the campus to look for signs of spring!!! They will

also be studying the different life cycles of animals. And of course taking part in the DLM testing.

After Easter, Room 15 will be planting flower seeds in windowsill gardens. Some of their students

will be shopping for the planting supplies while on CBI trips with Gale.

Room 6 SJOG Building will be making Wind Chimes. They have been reading the book The Wind

Blew.

Room 16 will be making spring mobiles to hang up, and doing a Weekly Reader about different

Why do we observe Daylight Saving Time? The simple answer is to save on energy costs. One of the

biggest reasons we change our clocks to Daylight Saving

Time (DST) is that it reportedly saves electricity. Newer

studies, however, are challenging long-held reason. In

general, energy use and the demand for electricity for

lighting our homes is directly connected to when we go

to bed and when we get up. Bedtime for most of us is

late evening through the year. When we go to bed,

we turn off the lights and TV.In the average home,

25% of all the electricity we use is for lighting and

small appliances, such as TVs and stereos. A good

percentage of energy consumed by lighting and

appliances occurs in the evening when families are

home. By moving the clock ahead one hour, we can

cut the amount of electricity we consume each day.
