The purpose of Raise Your Hand is to encourage our 4-H alumni to raise their hands and help pay it forward for the next generation of 4-H members. The goal is to have as many alumni sign up and then at the end of the campaign each county will receive a list of their alumni.
County offices are encouraged to reach out to these alumni and involve them in 4-H by signing their children up for 4-H (if not already), asking them to volunteer or maybe become a donor to the program. The top eight county 4-H Programs will receive a $500 cash prize for county program enhancement. VERY IMPORTANT!!
Watch Your Emails
We will be emailing the 4-H newsletter, a weekly news blast and communicating important 4-H infor-mation to your family’s e-mail addresses with “Randall 4-H” in the subject line.
4-H Academic Eligibility You must be enrolled in 4-H and be making passing grades in school before you can compete in any 4-H contest. The reason we ask you to notify us so early that you want to compete in county contests is be-cause we must check with your school to see if you are passing at least two weeks in advance of the con-test. Extension sends a letter to your school with the contest name, date and whether competition will re-quire you to miss any school.
Don’t forget that it is still your responsibility to let your school know the exact dates you will be absent from school so they will know how to code your ab-sence. If they don’t know why you’re not at school, you may be given an unexcused absence. You should also get assignments from your teachers before leaving.
If you are not academically eligible to compete, the school will notify a county agent who will let one of your parents know that there is a problem with your grades.
Attention: Club and Project Leaders
If you have something you would like placed in the 4-H newsletter, please e-mail the Extension Office at [email protected] by the 20th of each month or the following Monday if the 20th is on the weekend. We will no longer be calling you for this information. Your club will be told to con-tact a club leader for meeting information.
Meeting Room Reservation Requests If you want to schedule a meeting in one of the Kuhlman Extension Center meeting rooms, please fill out a Meeting Room Reservation Request Form found at http://randall.agrilife.org/4h-youth-development-2/forms-2/misc-forms/.
You may bring the completed form to the Extension Office or send it to the Randall County box [email protected]. We’ll confirm that your meeting has been placed on the calendar. Remember, it’s first come, first served so make a reservation as soon as you find out you’re having a meeting.
