Jesus Teaches us The Lord’s Prayer In the Bible

“One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”

He said to them, “When you pray, say Our Father…” Luke 11:1-2

Our Father

who art in Heaven

Hallowed be Thy name.

Thy kingdom come,

thy will be done on earth

as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our

daily bread,

And forgive us our trespasses

as we forgive those who

trespass against us.

And lead us not into

temptation but deliver

us from evil.

Amen

Jesus was praying and taught his disciples how to pray because they didn’t know how to. He taught them the Lord’s Prayer. He showed all of us that God is

everyone’s father and we must respect, honour and love Him as we do our parents. We show God how we feel about Him by praying. God listens to us when we pray, and he helps us through all the difficult moments in our lives. Praying brings us closer to God.
