Saffire Freycinet’s concept and design are like no other in Australia, capturing the essence of the unique Freycinet Peninsula region of Tasmania and connecting with its environment to bring an authentic and enriching experience for its guests.

Distinct in its design, exclusive in its features and set apart by its approach to individually tailored experiences and service, Saffire features 20 accommodation suites, each with sweeping views of Great Oyster Bay and the Hazards Mountains and complete privacy from the neighbouring suites.

All of the suites are luxuriously appointed, featuring the best in design and furnishings and capturing the unique nature of the surrounding coastline. All suites are designed for the utmost privacy while taking in the magnificent views of The Hazards, crystal-clear blue waters and white sandy beaches.

The furnishings feature an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary, with locally made timber pieces alongside mid-century classics such as chairs designed by Charles and Ray Eames and Herman Miller.

The suites are designed to relax and rejuvenate, indulge in reading and lazing the days away, and to find connection with the environment to heal and restore balance.

Our highly skilled therapists and masseurs have the skill to achieve guests’ highest health and wellness potential. Following consultation, our therapist will prepare a program of day spa treatments and therapies to reflect the guest’s personal needs and preferences.

Within the private and intimate Spa Saffire sanctuary, the guest pays only for time, allowing the crafting of a personally perfect journey, delivery and result.

Couples can choose to share the pleasure and romance of indulgent and restorative treatments and time together in the boutique dual suite.

C L I M A T EThe climate is similar to the south of France, with on average more than 300 days of sunshine and mean temperatures at around 23°Celsius (73.4° Fahrenheit) in January and 14°Celsius (57.2° Fahrenheit) in July.

The Tasmanian Devil Experience offers guests the rare opportunity to encounter Tasmanian devils in a natural setting, and to participate in the quest to save this endangered species from extinction.

Led by our knowledgeable guides, and visiting Saffire’s open-range Tasmanian devil enclosure, where they will meet some of the resident population of Tasmanian devils and observe them as they feed and interact. They will hear the story of the Tasmanian devil—the world’s largest carnivorous marsupial—and the crucial effort to find a cure for Tasmanian Devil Facial Tumour Disease (DFTD)—the rare and contagious cancer that is threatening the devil’s survival.

Guests also have the chance to contribute to Saffire’s management and observation of the devil population by participating in a visual health inspection of the devils. They will learn how to recognise individual devils, and use direct observation and remote camera imagery to identify and check each of our resident animals.

Guests will also learn of the vital work of the Save the Tasmanian Devil Program and the critical research of the Menzies Institute for Medical Research and Professor Greg Woods. Saffire is one of the key partners in Dr Woods’ quest to find a vaccine for DFTD, and guests can discover how they can be a part of the ongoing work to secure the survival of this important species.

Set around a beautifully crafted board table, designer made from Tasmanian timbers, The Boardroom hosts 20 delegates; alternatively, the room can be arranged in theatre style for 40. It features state-of-the-art audio visual technologyand communications, including 160cm LCD screen, videoconferencing, PolyCom, and personal Wi-Fi connectivity for up to20 delegates. This area can even be converted into a cinema.
