Air quality is a highly topical issue for a good reason: The air we breathe is foundational for our health. We all know that poor air quality is detrimental to human welfare and a very costly burden for a society’s health system, but to change the status quo takes political will. In this seminar, we will look closely at solutions that can make our cities healthier for all, improve the air quality and lower the pollution.

Climate change means that we have to prepare our cities for heavy downpours and flash flooding. It makes clever flooding solutions, the use of geographical data and digital tools to analyse risk a requirement. It also adds value because sustainable, landscape-based rainwater handling can bring nature back to our cities.

Successful firms recog-nize that in order to have the freedom to create great architecture, the practice needs to be run as a healthy business. In this regard, AutoPilot is the industry standard for project management software in Denmark because of its market share of over 50% and its proven track record: In 2016 the industry of the Architects in Denmark faced an increase in profit of DKK 100 Million com-pared to 2015. At the opening recep-tion of The Liveable City, Marie Hesseldahl Larsen will talk about how the philosophy of hygge can be incorporated into the design and architecture of buildings as an important part of creating a more liveable atmosphere.
