we experience the presence of God and his love,
By using
water, oil, bread, wine, words, movement, music, singing, etc,
and make appropriate responses of adoration, praise, thanksgiving, repentance, etc.
We also experience one another as fellow Christians, and reach out to them in openness, acceptance, welcome and hospitality.
Mat 20:25-27 but whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave.
HIGH PRIESTLY ROBE
The upside down world - Slave is the King
The Liturgy is associated with the name of James the Just, "brother" of Jesus and patriarch among the Jewish Christians at
Jerusalem.
St. Jamesthe Brother of the Lord and First Bishop of Jerusalem
"Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation.Through your goodness we have this bread to offer, which earth has givenand human hands have made. It will become for us the bread of life.
"Blessed are you God of all creation.Through your goodness we have this wine to offer, fruit of the vine and work of human hands. It will become our spiritual drink."
Greet each other with a Kiss of Peace
Mat 5:23-24 So if you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
This is the church
The body of Christ
This is the Bride of Christ.
The elements:
Seperated from common use for holy purposes
Holy
1 Corinthians 11:23-28
For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, "This is my body which is for you.
P: Holy things are for holy people.
“Holy things are for holy people.”
"Lord Jesus,I recognize my need for You to change my life."
"Lord Jesus, I repent and resolve to sin no more, but I need your grace. I need your mercy.“ "I ask and now believe that you hear me and will forgive me my sins!“
"Create within me a new heart and mind and fill it with your Spirit.“
"By faith now, I trust you with my life - help me live as You desire me to do"
"Thank you, Lord Jesus - come into my life and make me one with our Father!"
Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord.
Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
For any one who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself
1Co 11:30- 34 That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died.
But if we judged ourselves truly, we should not be judged.
But when we are judged by the Lord, we are chastened so that we may not be condemned along with the world.

Greet each other with a Kiss of Peace
Act 6:2-4 And the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not fit that we should forsake the word of God, and serve tables. Look ye out therefore, brethren, from among you seven men of good report, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. But we will continue stedfastly in prayer, and in the ministry of the word.
Agape Feast
In the early church Communion was a full meal.
The bread which we break is the communion of the body of Christ.
The cup of blessing which we break is the communion of the blood of Christ. 1 Cor. 10.16

(Lev. 16:12) as a symbol of homage, adoration and prayer.
(Psalm 141:2); Rev. 8:3-4). Thus the gifts and altar are incensed as a sign of the Church's offering and prayer going up to God. Priest and people are also incensed since they are to unite themselves and their prayers with the gifts that will be offered in the Eucharistic sacrifice.
Rev.5:8 "golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the Saints."
Symbols of Sacrifice
I am the light of the world: he that follow me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
You are the light of the world
In burning the candle disappears
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows.. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healedIsa 53:4-5
Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man,
the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1Co 2:9 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree,
that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness:
by whose stripes ye were healed. 1Pe 2:24
But you are
a chosen race, a royal priesthood,
a holy nation, God's own people,
that you may declare the wonderful deeds of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were no people but now you are God's people.
Being part of the body of Christ
And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.—Acts 2:41-47

Corinthians 11:20-34. “Therefore when you come together in one place, it is not to eat the Lord’s Supper. For in eating, each one takes his own supper ahead of others; and one is hungry and another is drunk.”
"For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body-Jews or Greeks, slaves or free-and all were made to drink of one Spirit" (First Corinthians 12.12, 13).
