Quality & Innovation

The all-plastic facing is a polypropylene sandwich con-

struction (layer 1 and 3) reinforced by a thin aluminium

foil (layer 2). The facing is resistant to UV rays, climatic

influences, on-site chemicals, swelling or shrinking. It

does not rot decay. It is repairable and completely recy-

clable. The facing can be pre-bent and joined to form

large or special forming sheets or be draped over wood-

en forming constructions almost like a carpet.

The 100 % Wood-Free Facing

The all-plastic facing puts an end to plywood waste in formwork. The world’s first 100 % wood-free facing has a spotless track record since 2000 all over the world. MEVA is the first formwork supplier to make this technology available in all of its products.

The facing lasts as long as the frame:The end of re-facing costsReplacing worn-out plywood sheets is now a thing of the past. No more dangerous waste because the all-plastic facing can be repaired with the identical material it is made of. Besides offering better qual-ity, the all-plastic innovation saves time and money.

All-Plastic. No Coating. Nailable like Ply.

The advantages at a glance No swelling and shrinking Nailable like plywood No re-facing – no hidden costs Easy and quick to clean Repairable using the same material Better concrete finish

Better and economicAll these benefits add up to a huge advantage in time and labor on the construction site. What’s more, the facing needs less release agent, reduc-ing the use of chemicals and achieving a smooth, architectural concrete finish first time, every time.

Research shows: The all-plastic facing is the only facing that is able to deliver architectural concrete in a used (rental) condition.

Cleaning and repairsAll MEVA logistics centers work to uniformly high quality standards certified according to the DIN ISO 9001 standard. This ensures quality and reliability in the industrial cleaning and repair plants for formwork equipment. MEVA offers a wide range of technical services for MEVA and other manufactur-ers’ formwork:

Formwork safety checkA regular, professional check-up of your formwork inventory including props and accessories brings you more safety and efficiency. All formwork equipment is carefully checked for safe function and opera-tion, damaged parts are sorted out and repairable damages fixed.

Re-facingRemoving worn-out plywood facing is done indus-trially in MEVA‘s Haiterbach plant. It is preferably replaced with a 100 % wood-free alkus facing but, as an option, customers can have their old plywood facing replaced by a new plywood facing.

RegenerationRegenerating your used formwork equipment gives it a new lease on life, reaching as-new-quality and a higher performance standard. This improves your customer satisfaction and delivers better concrete results. MEVA regeneration and maintencance services are based on modern industrial processes that guarantee top quality results.

1 The old facing is removed and the frame thor-oughly cleaned by sand-blasting it.

2 In the next step, the frame is repaired and then coated.

3 The regenerated panel frame is then equipped with a new alkus facing or, as an otion, with a new plywood facing if the customers wishes so.

4 The used panel is like new again and equipped with an all-plastic facing instead of a plywood fac-ing. This was the last facing for this panel. No more refacing required.

Only Simple Work is Safe Work. Meeting OSHA StandardsSafety equipment that is compatible with the form-work system used, fits the formwork design, and complies with all occupational safety and health regulations is mandatory to ensure worker safety. All MEVA equipment meets or exceeds OSHA standards.

Does the use of system safety equipment pay off in terms of cost-effectiveness? Independent research shows that the use of system compatible safety significantly speeds up assembly times and achieves performance values that are far superior to those using conventional walkway brackets and loose planking. The equation is simple: spend a little more on the right equipment to save significantly on time and labor.

MEVA

Sven Schoch, product manager with MEVA Formwork Systems and safety project manager took part in the test series and reports:

“What impressed me when working on a safety systems subscribes to a simple, but very convinc-ing logic: subjective safety. If you look at your own moves and steps, you notice that you work smoothly, more confidently and safely when you are protected all around. Feeling safer means you work faster and make fewer mistakes. It is one to climb up a fixed, integrated ladder with a protective cage and and stepping through an access hatch onto a slip-protected working platform. It is another to balance on rickety ladders and creeping forward on wobbly planking.”

Conclusion: Reduced time and labor is boosted by the subjective safety factor – "felt" safety. This, in turn, further speeds up work and avoids errors throughout, from initial assembly to the final pour.

Uniform attachment with the flange screw. Fewer parts, less inventoryThe attachment of accessories is standard and uni-form throughout all MEVA wall formwork systems. All you need is a standard flange nut. It attaches safely to the welded-in Dywidag nut. No hooks, clips, nuts or bolts are needed. Fewer parts means less storage, less searching and transport.

Training for safety and efficient workBenefit from the expertise of MEVA engineers when planning site safety from early on in the project. Our customer service, engineering and design teams assist you in developing and successfully implementing cost-effective safety solutions. This includes on-site support and training, supervision and consultation on safety issues and with safety authorities.

Only Safe Work is Fast Work.

Safety

Safety systems that are compatible with the formwork system used speed up work, improve worker safety and reduce

labor costs dramatically, as shown by independent scientific research.

Fields of Expertise

Forming the ExceptionalGrowing demands on concrete finish require more performance from the formwork and facing. New concrete mixtures, additives, concrete pressure; slim building geometries, irregular, rounded, bent, curved and slanted! As architecture rediscovers concrete as design material, formwork engineers are key figures in the construction team. From spe-cial designs and one-off or small series production of special formwork units know-how, experience and the love of exceptional solutions are MEVA’s track record.

The largest concrete-touching surface – the facing – has the greatest impact on concrete finish. Here, the all-plastic facing alkus has earned its merits. It can be welded jointlessly to form large forming areas. It can be bent and shaped for special geometries. It can be laid out over a lattice construction like a carpet, is joinable and can be mounted on panel frames.

It is repairable using the identical material, allowing any imperfections to be removed. No hole or scratch will harm the finish. There are few limits to shaping concrete when using the alkus facing.

Circo:

Circular

and Strong

Circular columns are a prominent architectural feature in structural and civil engineering projects. Since concrete cosmetics are rarely admitted, the demands on the concrete finish (architectural concrete) of circular columns are high. Circo is a leading circular formwork system – totally made of steel – for diameters from 9,85" to 31,5" (25 to 80 cm), which delivers a perfect architectural con-crete finish in underground car parks skeleton constructions halls bridge piers

If used together with MEVA wall formwork Imperial, Circo makes forming circular stop ends an easy job.

Circo / CaroFalt

19

Column Formwork

CaroFalt for Columns: Fold it. Roll it. Done.

CaroFalt is a foldable and moveable column form-work with an access platform, integrated ladders and safety cages. It complies with strict occupational health and safety standards. CaroFalt consists of four identical panels with articulated links, which are assembled like wind mill vanes. CaroFalt can be used with or without Chamfer strips to form either sharp or exactly beveled edges.

Chamfer strips are simple

to nail onto the facing for

a sharp column edge finish.

The practical 1.97'' (5 cm) markings make it very easy to

set the desired column dimensions.

Height extensions in steps of 0.98' (30 cm) are achieved by adding 1.97' or 3.94' (60 or 120 cm) extension panels below the 8.86' (270 cm) or 11.81' (360 cm) high standard panels. This way, the access platform and ladder do not have to be assembled and dismantled again and again. Once attached, all accessories remain at their position.

The formwork can easily be

opened and closed with a

spanner – even from a lad-

der.

Shoring and Slab Formwork

MevaDec: The Cost-Saving Slab Solution MevaDec offers three forming methods cover-ing every type of slab job with a single system. Depending on the method used, the facing can be integrated in panels or separate. All methods can be freely combined and do not require a crane.

The number of props is defined by the system and the parts are always the same. This ensures safety and avoids assembly errors. The drop head allows for early stripping, reducing inventory by up to 40 % and achieving cycles of 3 days per slab.

1 Drop-head-beam-panel-methodThis method uses primary beams, props with drop heads and panels with integrated facing. Very few props required. Grid-free and easy adaptation to building layout. Easy assembly and disassembly. Early stripping possible.

2 Primary and secondary beam methodWith primary and secondary beams, props with drop head and separate facing of your choice. Very few props required. This method is ideal when the slab formwork and facing need to be adapted to specific geometries.

3 Panel methodUses only 2 parts: Panels with integrated facing and props with prop head. No early stripping possible. Ideal method when pouring small slab areas where early stripping is not required.

4 Drop head for early stripping The patented drop head lowers the primary and secondary beams by 7.5'' (19 cm). The beams and panels (or the separate facing) can be removed easily and be used for the next slab or cycle.

Space Tower:

High & Stable

If particularly high vertical building parts like piers or columns have to be built, MEVA‘s shoring tower Space offers a safe and cost-effective alternative to conventional shoring systems. The tower units have a square footprint of 15.75' (4.80 m) which makes the shoring tower very stable at any height. The units are pre-assembled and bolted together at ground level. The tower is built from 9.84' (3 m) high units which can be extended by 1.64' (0.5 m) and 3.28' (1 m) extension units.

The shoring tower Space provides the nec-essary formwork bracing with just a few standard parts and, at the same time, serves as working platform for rebar or concreting works even in heights above 114.83' (35 m).

The shoring tower is assembled from a basic unit 15.75'

(4.80 m) square and 9.84' (3 m) high. The platform takes

the complete formwork load and needs no additional

braces or props.

Shoring and Climbing

KLK: The Climbing Scaffold with 5 Functions in 1 SystemThe climbing scaffold has one major task: allow the advantages of large-format to be used in great heights without any safety hazards. To achieve this, the formwork is attached to the climbing scaffold. A secondary platform can be attached below the climbing scaffold and formwork. A slide carriage allows the formwork to be moved back from the poured wall. The platform and the formwork remain connected to each other. The platform is 7.66" (230 cm) wide and offers sufficient working space even when a slide carriage is installed and used. The climbing scaffold KLK 230 consists of climbing brackets, wall struts, platform and guardrailing. It serves as a support platform for wall formwork and is ideally suited for: industrial and civil engineering highrise buildings bridge and infrastructure projects.

MEVA’s climbing scaffold KLK 230 combines 5functions in one system: It can be used as a safe working scaffold, as a support platform for wall formwork, for tilting climbing form-work, for climbing formwork with a slide car-riage and as a single-sided climbing formwork.

MGC: MEVA Guided Climbing

MGS: MEVA Guided ScreensMGC and MGS are twin systems. MGC is the guided climbing system comprising vertical formwork and safety platforms while MGS is the guided screens system with a full cladding for worker protection. Both systems are assembled on the ground for improved safety and speed. Once assembled, they are attached to the building from below. Through-out their use and during lifting, they remain firmly and safely attached to the building; wind loads do not affect the building process. The systems are lifted by crane. As an option, the MGS system can also be lifted with a hydraulic system.

MGC: MEVA Guided Climbingwith formwork and safety platformsThe climbing system and the formwork on its safety platforms are one single unit. Once the unit is assembled and attached to the building, bracket extensions, secondary platforms and lad-der extensions are also mounted from ground level below – under simple and safe assembly conditions. Designed to meet the highest standards in effi-ciency and safety, the MGS system is ideally suited for highrise construction. It can also be used to complement the MEVA climbing scaffold KLK 230.

MGS: MEVA Guided Screenswith full claddingWith its cladding, the MGS system encloses com-plete floors protecting workers and equipment against wind and weather when working at great heights. The size of the units can be adapted to the building geometry and to floor heights ranging from 9.84' to 13.94' (3 m to 4,25 m). The MGS system encloses three or more floors and fully projects over the top floor where work is in progress.

Guided Climbing

MEVA’s guided climbing system MGC is lifted by crane

and offers optimum worker safety. A unique feature is the

foldable opening shoe, which allows working platforms

to be lifted into the rail from below, at safe ground level.

In combination with the shaft platform, the MGC system

offers a perfect setup for concrete works on walls and

shafts in all high-rise construction projects with flexible

crane availability.

When slab works follow shafts and walls climbing ahead,

the MGS guided screens offers all-round working safety.

It is lifted by crane or by hydraulic lifting units. The flex-

ible spacing of the rails and different sizes of the housing

make it

easy to adapt to building

geometries.

Automatic Climbing

MAC: Automatic Climbing: Fast, Precise & Safe

MEVA’s Automatic Climbing System MAC combines safety and speed with precise adjustment.

Three-way formwork adjustmentThe system‘s inner and outer formwork are comprised of pre-assembled panels. A three-way adjustment allows for a completely independent adjustment of the panels in each direction, ensur-ing the greatest possible accuracy. The suspended panels can be moved and adjusted by hand.

The encased hydraulic climbing mechanism is fast and

easy to operate by small teams.

Fast cycles: steel concrete works + 1 dayThe lift of 13.12' (4 m) takes only about 60 minutes. This results in fast cycles with a "steel concrete works plus one day" schedule and the system can be operated by small teams.

Non-return safety ratchetThe MAC’s long-stroke and heavy-duty hydraulic system is equipped with safety features such as a non-return ratchet that locks on each cylinder and avoids hazards during the lifting process.
