Arora, IL&FS Business Development Manager conducted a live presentation and demonstration
of the product.
K-yan has been developed by IL&FS ETS in collaboration with IIT, Bombay, to meet the urgent
need for a low-cost new media product, specially designed for group learning in schools and other
learning communities.
The Power of K-Yan Community Computer
"This machine combines a projector, a high-end personal computer, an interactive whiteboard
and more into one machine. It is a highly efficient device which can performs well even in
extreme conditions such as lack of air-conditioning or even in dusty areas. 20,000 of the 26,000units deployed are in rural areas of India where electricity is scarce and the device only runs via
UPS," says Arora during the presentation.
How powerful is K-Yan All-in-One Device?
Projection. The projector is of the highest quality in terms of brightness (lumens) and it allows
the students to view content even in an open and bright classrooms.

I am very impressed with this education device and I am highly recommending it to be used in
schools. Take note that you need no t buy one K-Yan for every classroom since it is highly mobile
and portable it can be used in multiple classes and multiple classrooms.
How much is the K-Yan? The suggested retail price of the device is around P200,000 more or
less. You might say that it is too expensive but take into account the cost if you would buy a
projector, a television, an interactive whiteboard, a high end PC and all other devices included in
the K-Yan separately? It might be a bit cheaper but there is no substitute for its power of mobility
and integration.
