The water needs of human body

• We can live for 1 or 2 weeks without food, but without water we can only 2 or 3 days.

• About the human body’s 80% is water.• We should drink averagely 2.5-3 litres of

water daily.

The main tasks of water in the organism

• Carries the nutrients to the cells.• Removes the roughage that being

producted through biol metabolism.• Makes the joints elastic.• Maintains the proton and electron levels.• Creates a flexible protecting shell for our

organs.

Page 8: The Life-giving Water Created by: Krisztina Tímea Egri

The humans daily water needs

• 2-3 litre clean drinking water.

Page 9: The Life-giving Water Created by: Krisztina Tímea Egri

What do the pupils drink?• Tea

• Soft drinks• Sugared juice• Energy drink

• These just deprive our body of more water, these are dehidrateing.

Page 10: The Life-giving Water Created by: Krisztina Tímea Egri

Do we thirst?• On Earth more than 1 billion people can’t get

clean drinking water.• In more than 2 billion people’s surroundings

the sewage disposal doesn’t solved.

Page 11: The Life-giving Water Created by: Krisztina Tímea Egri

What is the situation in Hungary?

• We use the 70% of fresh water to hosing.• The 40% of the water usage of the cities are

waste.• 612 m3 fresh water used per capita yearly.• Hingary is on the water shortaged countries’

list since 1992.• The country can become half arid to 2050.

The water-base of Kállósemjén

• A long time ago the area of Hungary was covered by the Paratethys ocean.

• This’ sediment banked up the Kárpát-basin.• The contaminating materials left behind from

the sediment still can be found in the water-base of our village.

• The toxic materials are filtrated by dry-cleaner devices.

Page 13: The Life-giving Water Created by: Krisztina Tímea Egri

The contaminating materials in our drinking water without filtrate

• Iron: maximum value: 0,2mg/l– in our village: 0,5mg/l

• Arsenic: maximum value : 0,01mg/l– in our village : 0,056mg/l

• Manganese: maximum value : 0,05 mg/l– in our village : 0,5mg/l

• Ammonia: maximum value : 0,5 mg/l– in our village : 1 mg/l

Past-present-future• A long time ago people used to pull up fresh water

from digged wells.

• Nowadays piped drinking water flows in most of the households and they drink mineral water.

• What is the future??? • Water in a plastic bag???? • It depends on you too!

Page 15: The Life-giving Water Created by: Krisztina Tímea Egri

What can you do?• Use water sparingly!• Turn the dripping tap off!• Shower intead of bath!• Turn the tap off meanwhile toothbrushing, or

dishwashing!• Use economical devices (wc tank, washing-

machine, dish-washer etc.)!• Use less chemicals!• Collect the rain for hosing in a house with a garden.

Page 16: The Life-giving Water Created by: Krisztina Tímea Egri

What can the smallholders do?

• Develop adequate irrigation system!• Reduce the use of artificial fertilizer!• Reduce the us of crop protection chemicals!• Don’t get hazardous waste into the earth or

dronking water!

Page 17: The Life-giving Water Created by: Krisztina Tímea Egri

Drug residues• The sewage farms cannot filter out drug

residues.• Hormone products that get into the water can

change the creatures gender.

Page 18: The Life-giving Water Created by: Krisztina Tímea Egri

Industrial pollute• The farmaceutical factories, hospitals and other

chemical plants let their sewage into the rivers.• 20 different antophlogistics were revealed in

natural waters.• The 55% of the sewage flows into the Duna

without cleaning.

Page 19: The Life-giving Water Created by: Krisztina Tímea Egri

Diseases caused by water contamination

• Kidney diseases• Brain dysfunction• Mental disorders

Page 20: The Life-giving Water Created by: Krisztina Tímea Egri

Beleive your eyes!• Make the following experiment and you too

can experience that what kind of damages the contaminating materials that get into the water can cause!

• Ask your parents for help to make these experiments. Only use the dangerous chemicals with the help of your parents!!!

Page 21: The Life-giving Water Created by: Krisztina Tímea Egri

The deatils of the experiment

Materials need for the experiment:• Fried suflower oil• Detergent• Benzine• Motor oil• Running water• Garden cress seeds• Glass jars for germination

Page 22: The Life-giving Water Created by: Krisztina Tímea Egri

The process of the experiment• Put a blotting paper on the bottom of every

glass jars and dabble • Strew on it 50 pieces of cress seeds• Drip in the first jar motor oil every two days• Fried sunflower oil on the second• Dishwater on the third• Benzine on the fourth• Clean running water on the fifth

Examine, how many seeds will germ in the different jars

Draw a conclusion!
