Michael Perry
Michael Perry
New York Times bestselling author, humorist, radio show host and lead singer, Michael Perry
lives near the small community of New Auburn in Northwestern Wisconsin. He writes of life in
a rural environment, encompassing his involvement in community affairs as a volunteer
firefighter and EMT. Perry tells stories of different characters in the vicinity in a loving, witty
manner. His essays and nonfiction have been published in several publications including the
New York Times Magazine, Esquire, Runner’s World, and he is a contributing editor to Men’s
Health Magazine.
Author Michael Korda’s review of Population: 485 perhaps best describes Perry’s books: “Often
funny, sometimes heartbreaking, but always full of life, characters and the tangled web of small-
town history, daily drama, and strain of occasional weirdness that make country living such a
challenge and an adventure...A joy of a book."
