HOW IT WORKS The program begins in January, April, July and October of each year. Each 10-week course will typically increase English language proficiency by 0.5 on the IELTS, or a half band score on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR):

4–High Intermediate B1+/B2- 4.5–5.0
5–Advanced B2 5.5–6.0
DETAILS AND COST Program Length: 10 to 30 weeks depending on starting proficiency level*
Entry level: Equivalent to B1 on the CEFR, or 4.0 IELTS
Pathway(s): Associate degree in Culinary Arts, Bachelor’s degrees in Business, Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management, Study Abroad, or Bachelor’s degree completion pathway
Cost: $3,495 USD, per 10-week term – includes meals, textbooks, train/bus card, and insurance
Housing: $3,500 USD for double occupancy or $4,100 USD for single occupancy per 10-week term
*Time to completion may vary and is dependent on the student’s course load and successful completion of the courses.

HANDS-ON LEARNINGStudents in the Laureate English program develop their English language skills in the context of challenging, hands-on projects called “core assignments.” Assignments can be personalized to reflect student interests, professions, or fields of study, and often include an engagement with the rich cultural opportunities in the city of Chicago.
