A whiff of caramel addsanother dimension. Dark berries, plums andchocolate - there's a firmness yet it softensat the same time. The soils play their partwith a subtle minerally drive. Earthier than the 2013, with moist beetrootchocolate cake, grilled stone fruit beforehitting the McLaren Vale button with sweetraspberry, cardamom and black pepperspice. The light and shade is rightlybalanced: Silky up front (maybe the alcoholis a touch higher than stated) with plenty ofgrunt supplied by gravelly tannins. A verygood wine.
