Go for a walk in the woods or park. Look out for different trees. Use the leaf ID sheet to identify leaves on trees and on the ground. Have a competition to see who can find the most leaves on the sheet. Look at leaf shapes and sizes and talk to your child about how they are different. Making Puppets This activity gets your child to choose something they like, make it, then play with it. Step 1: Ask your child to choose a character or object they like from the book. Step 2: Get them to draw a picture of it, help them cut it out and stick it to the lollipop stick (or whatever you’re using as the stick for your puppet). Step 3: Read the book aloud and encourage your child to use the puppet when the character or object appears. Good to know Playing with puppets can help children work through and understand emotions.
