The last lesson was more about what our roles are…

This lesson gets into how we get ready to serve in those roles.

We’re creating a space for God and his people to meet.

We’re helping to create an environment that intentionally encourages people to pursue God.

That doesn’t start the moment we show up for the service.

Techs, spend time understanding the flow of the service, so you can get the big picture of the journey of worship.

You have been delegated the authority to be a lead worshiper and you have authority as a child of God.

When we walk humbly in that authority that we’ve been given, that gives us confidence to lead and do our job well.

Authority isn’t there to give you some sort of manipulative power over people.

Authority isn’t there to give you some sort of manipulative power over people. It allows you to serve confidently in who God made you to be.

We need to stop equating worship with music.

You are a disciple of Jesus first,and lead worshiper second.

Your private worship isn’t about preparing to lead. It’s about creating space for God to break in and work in your heart, and make you more like Jesus.

The more intentional we are on Saturday night, the more we’ll be ready to lead on Sunday morning.

Spend a little time on Saturday afternoon or evening reviewing the songs.

Serving the congregation as a lead worshiper on Sunday morning begins on Saturday night.

Like we learned in the first lesson, we have a crucial role to play as lead worshipers,
