It’s time to expand our emphasis and pray for God’s Spirit to guide us to specific lost peo- ple and pray for their salvation. I suspect that if we are listening to God when we pray for persons by name, we will hear God saying, “I wondered when you were going to get interested. I’ve been concerned all along. Now, go and engage that person in fellowship and watch for my leadership in opportunities to visit and share Jesus!” Sometimes, prayer becomes a copout for not witnessing; but, if you pray in earnest for a lost person, prayer will open doors for you to witness in the power of the Holy Spirit. So, stay “prayed up” and surren- dered to be used by God to make friends with people and win them to Jesus. Pastors, deacons, church leadership, remember to move your August 18th Evening Service to Cooper Baptist Church for dinner and a Rally for Revival. Bill Robertson will be our preacher. Our last Rally at Old Anacoco was great! With your church present and participating, this one will be even greater! The Helping Hands Building has been a miracle. Baptist Builders have come from all over and, despite the high temperatures and humidity, they worked unbelievably hard and accomplished much. Interspersed with working on the building, their ladies and youth have conducted four Backyard Bible Schools. One team from two states took up a collection of $1,039.00 for the project. What an example of dedication. One couple has worked on three Helping Hands building projects. Now, it’s time for VBA churches to pick up hammers, paint brushes, etc. and finish the project; but intertwined with all the above projects, we have Call of the Captain Leadership Conference, My Hope with Billy Graham Training, etc. These leadership events can be very helpful to our churches.
