Meet Alvaro Pisoni

Alvaro was born in 1953 and grew up in Trento, the Capital of the northernmost Italian region of Trentino-Alto

Adige/Suedtirol, which was part of the Austrian State of Tirol before WW1. After high-school, he moved to Rome, Italy

to study Architecture and then to Venice, Italy where he achieved the Doctorate degree in Architecture. He was elected

City Councilman of Trento where he successfully proposed and were approved two very important Architecture/Planning

initiatives for the city of Trento. He served in the Italian Mountain Corp “Alpini” in a NATO base. He practiced several

sports (sailing, volleyball, gymnastic, soccer, etc.), but he especially enjoyed competitive racing in downhill skiing in the

Alps.

He always enjoyed music, to draw sketches and write short stories where poetic expressions, feelings and emotions are

inspired by music and special atmospheres and environments. However, exploring and traveling has always been his

ultimate passion. By a small Fiat and a powerful red Moto Guzzi motorcycle, he explored most of the European countries

until, in 1980, with a backpack on his shoulder he landed in the American continent to cross it alone on land, from coast

to coast, back and forth, up to Alaska and Canada. In the next years, he did it 3 more times, always on different routes,

to explore and learn the true American way, its different cultures, architectures and landscapes. In 1982, he settled in

Denver, Colorado to study at the University of Colorado and receiving the professional Master Degree if Architecture in

Urban Design.

In 1985, he founded a Tour Company specialized in unique custom-designed travel itineraries to discover authentic

lifestyles, traditions and places mostly in Italy, its neighboring Alpine countries, some Mediterranean islands, the

American continent and other selected world destinations. He also specializes in creating and producing unique surprises,

performances and magical events to compliment his travel experiences.

Married with Cynthia, two children and two grandchildren

Owner and breeder of AKC Champions Pharaoh Hounds

Tour Operator – Travel Designer

Founder & President of SPIRIT of PLACES LTD

January 1985 – Present (30 years)

Since 1985, Spirit of Places Ltd (ex Pisoni-Ferrari Tour Co.) custom-designs unique travel Programs, Tours & Events for

FITs, travel agencies, corporations, clubs, churches, small to large groups of families and friends to all Regions of Italy, its

Islands, the Alps, the American continent and other selected and unique World Destinations. For its discerning clientele,

SoP focuses on places, settings, architecture and memorable accommodations with atmosphere, reasonable "price-

quality" ratio and top service standards and comfort. Alvaro has also planned a large 800 people Convention attended

by the Governor of Colorado, a 150 people event in a private castle, an 80 people pilgrimage with the Bishop of Colorado

Springs, designed, arranged hundreds of unique itineraries and personally accompanied groups, many VIPs, celebrities

and dignitaries.

Architect, Urban Designer & Town Planner Consultant

Several Architectural Firms 1980 – 2014 (34 years) - Italy, Colorado and California

Alvaro studied in Rome and Venice, Italy where he graduated with a Doctorate degree in Architecture and from the

University of Colorado where he received his Professional Specialty Master degree in Architecture in Urban Design.

Worked in several firms as an Architect and Urban Designer. Participated in several master plans and redevelopment

projects, including the Universal City Master plan in California, of which Universal Studios are part of. Conceived,

designed, led and produced the Vision Plan for the City of Parker, Colorado, which was adopted. Among Alvaro' s many

recognitions, he has been nominated twice for the Colorado Governor Growth Management Award.
