Greetings Lakeside UMC! The days are going by quickly as my husband, Frank and I make preparations to move to Streetman. Each day we have asked ourselves, What’s Next? Only to find a long list of items related to selling our

home, packing, saying goodbye to our old ways, and preparing ourselves for the jour-ney ahead. During these times, I have echoed the words of the Apostle Paul to the church in Philippi, “I thank my God every time I remember you…” (Ph 1:3) We keep thinking of Lakeside UMC and asking ourselves the same question, What’s Next? Only to think about what our future will be like in ministry with all of you. Where is the Spirit leading us? What now? Who will it be? When and How will we? All those basic questions that we need God and Your help to answer. I am grateful to God and the Bishop/Cabinet for this opportunity to be in ministry with each one of you!! As mentioned, I’m not sure where the Spirit will lead us but we look forward to being part of the adventure ahead!! Let us remain in prayer for God’s guid-ance, the examples of Jesus, and the urgings of the Holy Spirit to lead us in all we say and do. We look forward to getting to know each one of you!! OUR CARPENTERS FOR CHRIST were busy the first three days of July! Lakeside responded to a request for help for a local man with a very unsafe entrance to his home, and Van Wagnon circled the troops to put in a substantial ramp and steps. With sad hearts we bid our beloved Pastor Thomas Q and Ruth Robbins a sincere farewell on Sunday, June 30th. Susan Pokorski and Kay Cornish with help from others decorated our new Fellowship Hall and organized a delicious dinner of roast beef and potatoes and all of the deliciousness of a Pot Luck luncheon! Gene Byerly served as a Master of Ceremonies to bid our Pastor and Ruth goodbye with some wonderful memories of him over the last seven years. Farewell, dear Thomas Q and Ruth! Please enjoy your retirement (is this the second or third time??)!

SUCH JOYFUL NOISE! On June 30th, the Sanctuary was filled with the beautiful mu-sic from our own trio, Bella Voce, and sev-eral other performers.

Tex and Mary Schutz sang 3 good ole gospel tunes, Bob and Cynthia Gage sang together and then Bob belted out a deep melody and Betsy Metcalf sang 2 songs. It was a joyful night! Pastor Thomas Q per-formed his last opening and closing prayer for us. Our next sing is on September 29th, come as you are and join in!
