Family Tree The KZ family tree may have come from the small seeds of humble beginnings, but core values and hard work grew them into the thriving company they are today. KZ enjoys the loyalty of employees, dealers, and retail customers alike, who have all joined the KZ family tree. No matter how big a family gets, it should never forget its beginning. The KZ family tree traces its roots back to a small gas station in 1972. Desiring to start his own company, Daryl Zook decided to begin building truck campers. Eventually he began manufacturing travel trailers, which became known as Sportsmen. Our History It is this same quality control and work ethic that has made KZ a favorite among their wide dealership base. Successful KZ lines include high-end models like Durango and Stone Ridge, to value-packed Sportsmen Classics. By 2013, KZ had been awarded the Dealer Satisfaction Index award 13 times. This prestigious honor signifies that KZ is an industry leader in sales support, quality control, pricing, and design. KZ continues to be widely respected by their dealers today, many of whom have been with KZ since the beginning. Dealers Soon, the KZ family began growing even larger, as more employees were hired to match the demands of the growing customer and dealer base. Only the best workers—many of whom have Amish roots— have been hired. KZ’s home in Shipshewana, Indiana, makes it possible for the KZ family to have this unique, high-quality workforce. Our work force has an average of 13 years of experience building quality products. This low turnover rate is a reflection of our family values. Employees Like all families, KZ’s is unique. Each element of KZ’s RVs are either built by regional craftsmen or carefully selected from a proven source. KZ is committed to building RV’s with the same quality they would want for their families. This philosophy alone has influenced every step in the production process. No wonder KZ’s retail customer and dealer satisfaction are among the highest in the industry. KZ offers a two-year limited warranty on many models in their broad product line. These distinctions have led to many repeat buyers and ongoing dealer and customer loyalty. Our online parts and warranty system benefits both the dealer and retail customer with claim turn time. As more customers began to enjoy the Sportsmen product, the more KZ valued their interaction and feedback—so much so that customer suggestions became a staple ingredient of the KZ product line. Daryl Zook has made a point of using KZ’s influence to impact organizations like Habitat for Humanity, The Boys and Girls Club, The Red Cross, and Middlebury Food Pantry, just to name a few. KZ simply believes in being a good neighbor and doing the right thing. Having a strong presence in the community and giving back are highly valued by KZ. Community Involvement The more satisfaction came rolling out of the KZ factory, the larger the family grew. The KZ complex now consists of 8 buildings containing over 450,000 square feet, a large network of dealers and over 300 employees.
