Pardon Our DustWe are in the process of
remodeling some areas of our S.
Alpine Road location this summer.
On select days and times in the
coming few months, there may be
limited access to certain areas of
the S. Alpine branch. We will make
every effort to offer “business as usual”.
All of our other locations will be open and available during
regular business hours. Please excuse the temporary mess.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
Many Americans are concerned about someone stealing their
credit card, check, or debit card numbers. Though the recent
debit/credit card Schnucks/Hilander data breach was not the
fault of consumers, we want to remind you there are some
easy steps you can take to prevent thieves from stealing your
financial information:
• Shred all pre approved credit offers,
credit and debit card receipts, insurance
forms, financial statements, and other
paperwork containing personal and
financial information;
• Check credit union statements and
other financial statements monthly for
discrepancies and order a credit report
once a year (annualcreditreport.com)
to make sure no one else is using your
personal information to obtain credit cards
or services;
• Don't print your Social Security number on your checks and don't
carry your Social Security card in your wallet; and
• Be hesitant about giving personal or financial information over the
telephone or email--make sure you know the caller/sender and know
how the information will be used.
Plus, If you will be traveling out of town for a period of time,
let your credit union or credit card company know where you
will be and the time frame so they can alert fraud protection.
Online and Mobile Banking are excellent, immediate ways
of monitoring your accounts regularly, 24/7. Use this free
technology to keep track of your accounts & to watch for
suspicious transactions; and if you see fraudulent activity on
your account, report it promptly to the credit union.
The security and safety of our members is of utmost
importance. These helpful tips can lessen your chances of
being a victim of account fraud.

Vacation Club? Good Plan!
You Can Rely On Us! 3
Your first step toward an affordable vacation is to save for it.
When you plan a trip, consider using a Vacation Club account
at MembersAlliance.
You can set up a Vacation Club account specifically to save
for a vacation. That way the money is slightly less accessible
and you're less inclined to dip into it for other expenses. You
can set aside a specific amount from each paycheck to ensure
that you have enough money when your vacation rolls around.
MembersAlliance pays out our Vacation Club accounts on
June 1st of every year. Ask a member service rep to get you
started and look forward to a great getaway!
Get the Low-Down for Smooth Summer SailingWhether you're looking for an RV (recreational vehicle) for
traveling cross-country or a boat for relaxing on the lake,
we can help with all your recreational needs by offering low
interest rates, flexible terms and low down payments on
Vehicle Loans. Boats, travel trailers, campers, motorcycles,
RVs–whatever your chosen mode for summer fun, we can help
make it happen. Avoid the rough waters of a high-interest loan.

YOU can help protect your credit union!
You may have heard that politicians in
Washington are considering an overhaul of the
federal tax code. We want to alert you to an idea
being discussed that could greatly harm credit
unions and their members.
As a member, you know that MembersAlliance
is owned and directed by you. Unlike banks that
maximize profits for a small group of investors,
credit unions exist to serve their members,
including working families, small businesses, and the local community.
Because we return benefits to our members, we are able to offer
higher returns on savings and lower fees. That’s why your credit union
is not-for-profit and tax exempt.
Now banks and some politicians in Washington are talking about
taxing credit unions like MembersAlliance, despite the fact that we
are not-for-profit. They say we can balance the budget by taxing credit
unions, even though credit unions hold only 6% of all financial assets
nationwide, and banks hold the rest.
Since credit unions are not-for-profit, taxing credit unions could even
destroy credit unions as we know it, eliminating financial choice for
consumers.
Moreover, taxing credit unions won’t even help our budget deficit. In
fact, for every $1 of their tax exemption, credit unions return $10 to
consumers in better rates and lower fees. That’s a solid investment in
our communities and economy. But if Congress taxes credit unions,
these benefits go away, and your credit unions may go away too.
A tax on credit unions is really just a tax on you the member.
The President and Board of Directors of MembersAlliance, along
with the local Chapter of Credit Unions, urge you to send a strong
message to Congress: “Don’t Tax My Credit Union!”
It’s easy to take action: just visit www.DontTaxMyCreditUnion.org
to contact your U.S. Representative and Senators. While there, you
can also watch a video, and learn more about how you can help us
tell Congress, “Don’t Tax My Credit Union!” Click on the Take Action
icon and follow the easy steps to make a difference!
