The history of the José de Mello Group goes back to the 19th century. Today it is still a family-based and family-
controlled Group.
It is one of the largest and most diversified Portuguese economic groups, with three business platforms of
excellence and market leaders in the fields of infrastructures and mobility (i), health (ii) and chemical industry (iii),
as well as a set of other holdings in the fields of maintenance and photovoltaic parks, residential solutions and
recovery and rehabilitation programmes, production and commercialization of wine.

Brisa is a national and international reference in the management and operation of motorways with high level
of innovation and technology.
It is developing a new corporate positioning:
� from the age of the infrastructure to mobility
� with new approaches and new ongoing projects
It is an example of good economic performance and financial strength.
The José de Mello Group is the largest shareholder (57.3%), managing Brisa in partnership with Arcus fund
(40.6%).

CUF is the largest Portuguese operator in the chemical industry, with manufacturing units in Portugal and
Spain.
It produces and distributes organic and inorganic industrial chemicals:
� aniline
� chlorine
� caustic soda
� sulphanilic acid
� nitrobenzene
It has an ongoing innovative and high technological profile project in the area of nanomaterials (Innovnano).
José de Mello Group currently holds 100% of the company.

José de Mello Saúde is the largest private operator of health care in Portugal and an example of clinical
excellence and respect for the dignity and customer welfare.
Manages a network of health care units with wide geographic coverage:
� 1 institute, 8 clinics and 7 private hospitals
� 2 public hospitals
It has an ongoing opening of new units.
José de Mello Saúde is a partnership between José de Mello Group (70%) and ANF – Associação Nacional de
Farmácias /National Association of Pharmacies (30%).

José de Mello Residências e Serviços focuses its activity on the development of residential solutions and
orthopedic, geriatric and neurological rehabilitation programmes.
Manages two residential units with the brand Domus Vida, in Lisbon and Estoril.
José de Mello Residências e Serviços is a partnership between José de Mello Group (70%) and ANF –
Associação Nacional das Farmácias /National Association of Pharmacies (30%).

ATM is the leading Portuguese company in the area of maintenance.
It has highly qualified teams and manages numerous contracts in the areas of industry and energy, healthcare
and in the tertiary sector, apart from developing engineering solutions for energy and HVAC systems and for
the defense sector, having also expertise in the area of airport emergency and rescue operations.
With more than 20 years of market experience, it is equally owned by the José de Mello Group and the Têxtil
Manuel Gonçalves Group, that is, 50% each.

Linked to the José de Mello family for generations, Monte da Ravasqueira is located in Arraiolos, occupying an
area of about 3,000 hectares.
Runs a wine project in a 45 hectares area of own vineyard. Wines are sold in different segments in Portugal
and in export markets.
It also promotes a project of wine tourism, already distinguished by Wine Tourism Awards and by TripAdvisor.
Also explores activities related to the forest (cork), creation and commercialization of cattle, fattening of black
pig and production and commercialization of honey and olive oil.

Formed in 2014 as a result of a restructuring process with the purpose of aggregating Efacec nuclear businesses
and activities.
It has a strong international presence and develops operations in engineering and energy areas.
Majority owned by Winterfell, a company controlled by entrepreneur Isabel dos Santos, EPS is nearly 28%
owned, in equal shares, by the José de Mello Group and the Têxtil Manuel Gonçalves Group.
