Easily dismissed if you don’t get it, and impossible to resist if you do, the privilege of Jeep® ownership is a part of the “American Experience.” To attract a greater understanding of the Jeep® mystique, DeBergerac Productions, Inc. proposes a full-length documentary that focuses on one iconic member of the Jeep® Family - the Wagoneer.

From working vehicles to family wagons, off-roading warriors to definitive icons of style, the Jeep® Wagoneer is as diverse as its owners. By its very nature, the Wagoneer refused to be narrowly defined by a particular segment of the population.

The film and its accompanying online and educational ancillary materials will examine the history and evolution of the Jeep® Wagoneer as well as provide insight into how and why this remarkable vehicle developed a devoted following during its incredible 29-year production run on the same platform.

The Jeep® Wagoneer: A History Maker (working title)

Three distinct, interwoven story lines will provide a narrative framework for THE JEEP® WAGONEER: A HISTORY MAKER.

• The first story line will introduce Katie Sullivan, an Emmy Award-winning producer, and identify how her father’s love of classic American cars and her parents’ Detroit roots inexplicably intersected with her chosen career path and her personal desire to tell the story of the Wagoneer, her “Dream Car.”

• The second story line will encompass the history and

evolution of the Wagoneer from its direct ties to the Bantam Jeep and the Willys MA up through the Grand Wagoneer’s 1991 Final Edition. Unquestionably emerging from legendary military roots, this civilian vehicle passed muster with a whole new segment of the population merited by its own ingenuity, styling, and revolutionary capability.

• The third story line, showcasing the “renewal” of a

1991 Final Edition Grand Wagoneer by Leon Miller and Chip Miller, the father-son duo behind the “Wagonmaster” business, will feature a cross-country road trip and interactions with individuals from all walks of life who continue to be impacted by the Jeep® Wagoneer today.

THE JEEP® WAGONEER: A HISTORY MAKER is a 90-minute documentary film intended for television broadcast, supported by archival print advertisements, footage, and photographs provided by well-established historical organizations as well as the generous contributions of private automobile memorabilia collectors.

Although the last Grand Wagoneer rolled off the Toledo Assembly Line back on June 21st, 1991 – more than 20 years ago, interest in the Wagoneer hasn’t diminished. If anything, this Jeep® model has actually risen in popularity, as evidenced by its resurgence in popular culture.

Given people’s love affair with this particular Jeep® model, this documentary seeks to explore the Chrysler Group LLC’s future plans to bring back this rolling icon of Americana – a vehicle deeply imbued with the “American Dream.”
