INSIDE Public Accounting’s annual Best of the Best recognition honors 60 CPA firms across the country for their overall superior financial and operational performance on more than 70 IPA criteria. The right combination of planning, strategy and execution distinguish Best of the Best firms from among more than 500 firms that participated in IPA’s 25th Annual Survey and Analysis of Firms.

The IPA Best of the Best firms demonstrate long-term consistency and exceptional performance in any economy – up or down. Exceptional client service, commitment to firmwide training and prized staff benefits are features of the Best of the Best. The IPA Best of the Best firms come in all sizes – from 25 employees to 2,300 – and are geographically dispersed across the U.S. “Best of the Best firms aren’t just successful in a financial sense – they’re firing on all cylinders,” says Michael Platt, principal of the Platt Group and publisher of INSIDE Public Accounting. “We look at the whole firm: How do they treat their employees? Are they offering specialized services to their clients? Are they planning now for a new leadership team in the future?” As in 2014, IPA has named 50 Best of the Best over $5 million and 10 Best of the Best firms, under $5 million representing the top 10% of firms that participated in this year’s survey. The 10 Best of the Best Under $5 Million are identified but not included in the analysis. The top 25 Best of the Best are represented by large and small firms, firms in large metropolitan areas and smaller cities, practices that are highly specialized and some more traditional. IPA
