Windows Live Hotmail

• Windows Live Hotmail is a Webmail provider from Microsoft that you use to send and receive email

• A Webmail provider is an Internet Web site that provides free email addresses and other Web-based services, such as online file sharing, to registered users as well as the capability to use any Web browser with Internet access to send and receive email messages

• An email account that you have with a Webmail provider is also called Webmail because you access the email account through the Webmail provider’s Web site

• Depending on your browser configuration, you might see your Windows Live ID on the Windows Live Sign In page

• You might also see someone else’s Windows Live ID account information on the page; in this case, you can click the Sign in with a different account link to enter your Windows Live ID and password so you can sign in to your own account

• If you forget your password, you can enter your Windows Live ID and then click the Forgot your password? Link

• You can use the Forget me link to tell the browser not to display your Windows Live ID when it loads this page

Replying to and Forwarding Messages

Deleting an Email Message and Label

• When you no longer need a message, you can delete it by selecting the check box to the left of the message in the Inbox, and then clicking the Delete button

• You can delete a label by clicking the Settings link, clicking the Labels link, and then clicking the remove link for the label

• When you delete a message or label, you are marking it with the Trash label

• The default setting for Gmail accounts is for the system to delete all messages marked with the Trash label after 30 days
