This show is representative of the cur-rent movements in the acrylic medium. In-cluded is representational work as well as abstract and non-objective themes. There

is a wide range of styles with traditional, experimental, and inventive context. Each piece will take the viewer into a different world of thoughtful consideration for its subject and use of the medium. This body of work is dynamic and strong in emotional content. Enjoy the passage through the creative language of acrylic painting illustrated in this show. Congratulations to all participants and a thank you all for being part of this endeavor! There were 348 paintings juried by Louise Cadillac, with 60 paintings accepted for the International Show in Santa Cruz, CA at the Santa Cruz Art League. Entries by geographic location were as follows: 58 entries came from California, 24 were accepted; 40 entries came from Florida, 7 were accepted; 6 came from both Washington and New Mexico with 2 accepted from each state; 5 came from Missouri, 4 accepted; 5 from Minnesota, 2 accepted; 4 came from both Idaho and North Caroline, 1 accepted from each; 2 came from New Jersey, both accepted; Indiana, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, Oregon, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Northern Ireland were also represented. • JUROR'S STATEMENT: As always it's with much anticipation and excitement that I first view the entire body of slides or entries of a competition. And it takes several viewings before the actual se- lection process begins and the timber of the exhibition starts to take shape. The selected pieces are then further studied and scruti- nized for originality, of experimentation, for new ideas, and for revealing a different mind set. Making a unique statement often requires innovation, the breaking of some rules, and/or the rebuilding of techniques and methods. The artist has these prerogatives. And I am pleased to find in this body of work a trend towards a uni-versal content; a tendency towards the abstract rather than the per-sonal or the cliché. I hope the viewers of the ISAP competition of 2008 will find many works to study, to question, and to enjoy. Louise Cadillac, Juror ISAP 2008

Thick thick, creamy, powerful colors. You’ve never painted with anything like this before I love their sensual, smoother paint. All other paints are just sticky globs. If you want a professional paint, paint with Holbein Mat Acrylics. They’re new, they’re cool, and you deserve to try this paint now. Which one of these do you deserve? A five course gourmet dinner overlooking an exotic city, or a cold, stale bologna sandwich from an all-night gas sta-tion? That’s the difference between Holbein Acryla Acrylic paints and all others. You deserve the best now. Stop wait-ing until you get better. The fastest way to become a bet-ter painter is to paint with better paint. Holbein has been making crisp, clean colors made of 100% pure pigments since 1899.

since All others just don’t have the punch I love. In my workshops worldwide and in my California Studio, I only paint with Holbein Acryla Acrylics and Holbein Mat Acrylic colors. Bob Burridge
