The 2nd training stage The project team at “Mihai Viteazul” Technical College in Oradea organized the 2nd conference To be or not to be a learning community, within the SGoLC international project on Thursday, 5th April 2012, in the Palladium Hall at the Continental Forum Hotel in Oradea.

The Learning Community as seen from the perspective of the andragogical method – concept and

applicability

Mrs. Marinela Filip presented in an open discussion with the trainees:- the concept and the seven features of a LC - examples of LC in our schools but on different levels: students, teachers or administration - defining features of a LC (the idea of a community, the need of learning and the end result)- complementary features of a LC (the membership, common interests, efficient relationship, collaboration, assertive communication, cognitive conflict recovery, learning from own experience and the experience of others, creativity, innovation, non-formal context and informal learning context)

The workshop: application of the LCMrs. Florina Musca set up and coordinated the workshop activity explaining the tasks for each group: to decide and mark down the answers to the following questions: • Is it possible to create a LC in your school and why (what strengths do you have in your school)?• What possible impediments would make its creation difficult (what weaknesses does your school have)?

The workshopDuring the group activity the members of the team walked from one group to another and gave detailed instructions, suggestions or examples for the tasks.
