Kumar Manglam Birla, celebrating his birthday this month, is an eminent industrialist
and the Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, one of the largest conglomerate corporations
in India. The group is India's third largest business house. Mr. Birla is a Chartered
Accountant and an MBA from the London Business School. He is also the Chancellor of the
Birla Institute of Technology & Science. He has taken the Aditya Birla Group to an
altogether higher growth trajectory, has built a meritocracy and has enhanced
stakeholder value.

Respected Members,
This is the age of the global economy and the
international village. Boundaries once defined by
geography, culture and history are fast
crumbling. India is no exception nor is it immune
to this change. In fact it has benefitted immensely and is rapidly
emerging as a power on this new world stage. The same we
evidenced during 4th International Residential Refresher Course at
Hongkong, Macao and Shenzen in the month of May 2013
organised by Baroda Branch of WRIC of ICAI.Of course, we learnt
new culture, visited new places and had wonderful experience.
During the month of May, we had also organized full day Seminaron
audit of UCBs, two teleconferences and participated in Regional
Volley Ball tournament at Surat.
Dear members, as all of you are aware, Baroda Branch is hosting
Sub-Regional Conference ,organised by WIRC of ICAI on 21st and
22nd of June 2013.The theme of the conference is Riding the winds
of Change- aiming to gear up our professionals for welcoming
CHANGE, which should be seen as a new chapter, fresh
opportunity to gain knowledge or experience in some new area or
chance to discover new skills. The endeavor is to prepare our
professionals to throw the light on the new-fangled road so that the
path becomes clear, the obstacles are understood and pre-empted
and the panorama at the end of the journey is visualized. all this,
with the hope that some of the participants will be encouraged to
take the first step, in this rewarding journey of a thousand miles.
Baroda Branch is known for hosting conferences & conventions
with the best hospitality and the best technical inputs. I wish this
conference also sustains the same benchmarks or figures out
elevated benchmarks. My team members have kicked off their
efforts for the success of the conference and with the support of
past chairmen and all the members of the Baroda Branch,
conference will turn into a successful enlightening event.
1st July is designated as CA Foundation Day and we mark it by
celebration. Our President has decided to undertake activities at
PAN India level for the celebration. Baroda Branch has also
organised number of social and cultural activities on 30th June 2013
and 1st July 2013. I urge each and every
member of the Baroda Branch to participate
in the celebration activities.
