THE INJURY FREE OVERHEAD ATHLETE KORT Physical Therapy is happy to announce a free screening for all throwing and overhead athletes ages 6-18! This is open to all athletes, but is especially recommended for: • Baseball Pitchers • Softball Pitchers • Football Quarterbacks • Volleyball Players • Tennis Players • Soccer Goalies Assessment - Screening will be with Dr. Sam Coy, OS with KY Bone and Joint Surgeons and KORT clinicians. The thorough screening will assess in each athlete the following traits: • Appropriate flexibility in the throwing arm and upper torso • Strength of the hips and core musculature for throwing stability • Education regarding the amount of pitches that are safe per inning based off of the athlete’s age and sport Screening of joints to prevent injury, including: • The shoulder & rotator cuff • The neck • The elbow • The hand • The upper and lower back • The hips • The knees Advice and general education regarding sports performance will also be given by each skilled professional.
