The Ingleburn Informer
Executive Notes
Newsletter Term 4 Week 8 It has been an exciting week with the Talent Show, K-‐2 Athletics Carnival and Milo Cricket Gala Day. More proof that Ingleburn has talent and is a fun place to learn. Thank you to the students and staff who have been involved in these events. Christmas Concert We hope to see everyone at our Christmas Concert next Wednesday evening. It is shaping up to be a great night with many cheery performances. If your child won't be attending, please let your child’s teacher know as soon as possible. The concert will be held in the back playground and students are asked to arrive at 5:30pm. Teacher’s Tech Play Date Yesterday afternoon, students who regularly attend Maker Club had the opportunity to learn about, and experiment with, some of the new technology our school will be investing in in 2017. Eric from Datacom brought along Spheros, Makey Makey kits, Osmo sets, Little Bits sets and Bee-‐Bots for the students to code and create the afternoon away. Our students were the “techsperts” who then taught the teachers after school at a teacher’s tech play date. They did a fantastic job and there was lots of fun to be had. Thank you to the students and their parents for supporting the Maker Club program throughout the year and also to Datacom. 2017 Planning Planning for 2017 is now well underway. We kindly ask that you inform the school in writing if your child/ren, currently in years K-‐5, will not be returning to Ingleburn next year due to a change in school. It is equally important that you notify the school if your child will be returning to school late due to extended holidays. If you are taking an extended holiday into the 2017 school year, please see the front office to complete the required paperwork prior to the end of this school year. 2017 Return Date Students in Years 1-‐6 in 2017 return to school on Monday 30 January. Children commencing Kindergarten will have their first official school day on Monday 6 February. Letters about Best Start assessment dates and times have been posted to Kindergarten students. Please keep an eye out for it in the mail if you have a child starting school next year.

App Review Best Fiends Forever is the sequel to the original Best Fiends but it's back as an
addicting clicker game! This game is impossible to put down and so fun as you never die, eliminating the rage of losing. You have a certain time for boss battles but if you use 8 fingers you should be fine. The main addicting part is you can beat your friend's score and your own by redoing each island. Collect all the friends and get them out of the world of clicking! This is a fun time waster and consumer. If you are bored you may as well play this! It’s suitable for all ages above 5. I would rate this game a massive 5/5.

Kahoot is a great way to teach or learn. If you have a smart TV or a gaming console open Kahoot on the Internet browser and open the app on your device connect them and you're ready. You can play quizzes already made by other creators or go wild and create your own! This game can be a great Friday night family game or a great way to teach the kids a boring subject. There are some flaws like if you have bad internet it’s gonna lag a lot or it takes a few minutes to load your answer on the big screen but like any other games there are some flaws but you can get around it and still make it a good game. I would rate this innovative 4/5.
